Okay, so I have not been to Disney w/out children in forever.

Next weekend I'll be in FLA with a friend and we have a free day. I really want to go over to Epcot for the day and enjoy World Showcase.

World showcase just cannot be enjoyed with a kid in tow.

SOOO hints & tips of fun stuff to see and do in the World Showcase during Wine & Food Fest. Also, where are the secret things here & there that we can find.

THANKS!!!!!

Take a look at the menus before you leave. That way, you'll know what you want to eat before you get there. Also, bring plenty of singles and quarters - items at the Food and Wine Festival are $2-$5, and are usually $2.50, $3.25, etc.

I would call 407-WDW-FEST and see if there are any cancellations for any of the special events during the time you are there. Eating and drinking from the World Showcase kiosks is a great way to sample many different cultures in an afternoon, but doing a Lunch & Learn or a Signature Dinner is really a special experience. Or if there's one when you're here, you can do a Party for the Senses. It's almost $100 a person, but it's like distilling the entire Food and Wine Festival experience into one mega event.

If I get my way, we'll be there Saturday 11/12.

Our trip WAS to keywest but Wilma changed our plans. We're now staying at my friends house in Sarasota. I fly in Thursday night and Friday we're having a spa day! :) I'm SOO excited about that. I fly out Sunday around 2:00pm, so Saturday is our open day!

I cant wait!

I have heard that Italy, Germany and Japan are particular good.

I have food allergies so I am afraid of everything....

but my friends aren't.

we are going next week -when are you going?

To eat around the world at Epcot, definitely get there first in the morning without breakfast and start chomping.

Pace yourself. We were tempted to buy everything we saw at each kiosk/station during the Food & Wine Fest, but limited ourselves to one food item and one alcohol item per stand. We were still stuffed by the end of the day!

Definitely try:
- Cheese soup at the Canada stand
- Samosas at the India stand
- Pierogi and kilebasa at the Poland stand
- Creme brulee at the France stand

Have fun!

We didn't pace ourselves and enjoyed the food! I just wish they made changes midway, because after 9 days, we were fooded out of the same old same old LOL! We got to try the Cheddar soup at Canada and especially enjoyed the food at the Ireland booth (yummy yummy potato leek soup..always a line). France was a big disappointment, as the top of the choc cream brulee was burnt..all three times I tried it. Others had the same complaint. The pasta and pizza at Italy were both great too. American booth had a great crab leg patty..yummy. I think it was Australia that had the bar b que. Just wet my appetite! We tried to eat (and I think we suceeded!) at least once at each booth. We don't drink, so that left room/money for food. We spent quite a bit of money..these are only samples and your money goes fast. We actually used our credit card..it was fast (they had a machine and you didn't have to sign) and we got point credits.
Just so you know, it's one drink per person, so if there are two of you, you are both supposed to go up for the drinks. Lots of arguing over that, and a few times, the cm's gave in. I thought it was rude of the people to argue. That's the rule, and it was too bad the cm's had to take the heat.
Have a good time!

I thought I'd be evil and tell you to try the Cherry Wine...I think it was in Greece. But I'll be good and tell you it is exactly the same as drinking cough syryp. I had to go over to Canada to get something to kill the taste. I had the cheddar cheese soup and the riesling...both very good.

There is free wine and beer if you hit those displays just right...one I think was in the Sam Adams booth up by the American pavilion ...I'm not sure where the wine was. Never got the free honey and peanuts. Man I'm mad about missing the american booth...but some how I did! Oh...the ginger ice cream in china was good but way too big of a serving....that is a must split item.

you must have the gelato in Italy, it is so delicious. I think it comes in pistachio and vanilla flavors. We tasted different wines throughout. It is such a fun way to discover new tastes. Enjoy yourself! :flower:
