We'll be at Epcot on a night that MK closes at 9. We're going to stay for Illuminations (will probably see it from the America pavilion, so pretty far from the Epcot entrance. We'd prefer not to have to walk as fast as possible afterwards, and would prefer to leisurely walk out to the monorail. I don't see us having any issues making the Epcot monorail, but once we're at the TTC will they stop running the resort monorail at 10pm? If so, what will our options be to get back to the Contemporary? I'm assuming we wouldn't be able to take the ferry to MK and then walk over, because MK closes at 9 that night? Is there any boat service from Poly to Contemp.? We're hoping that we make it to the TTC and are able to get in line ect. by 10, but if not what are our options? TIA!

best bet is to just get a bus from EPCOT to CR. You can also ask monorail CMs at EPCOT when you board the monorail if the resort line will still be running when you get there. They have radio communications and will know the state of the resort loop and can call the coordinator if needed.

But if you find yourself at TTC once the resort line is down, there is a modified Gold route bus that will be running between TTC, Contemp, Poly and GF. So you're not totally out of luck...

Thanks for the info. I think we might try to see Illuminations from a closer spot to the exit, and hopefully make the resort monorail, but I'm glad to see there will be options at TTC if we don't. I'd really hate to plan on leaving Epcot via a bus, as being able to use the monorail for transportation was a huge reason we decided to stay at a monorail resort in the first place.

Honestly I think the resort loop would still be running since EPCOT and MK close at the same time that night. This is a case where the recent changes to operating hours would not come into play. There is always the difference between when they advertise shutdown, and when things actually shut down. For instance, the boats at MK we say run 1.5 hrs after closing, but in reality, we run until the park is declared clear, which means if you have 5 ppl lulling around on Main Street, we sit there and wait. My guess is the resort loop in this situation, would run until EPCOT and MK are both declared clear.
