On June 21 will it be possible for my husband and I to watch IllumiNations at 9pm and then Hop on the Monorail and have some time to go on a ride or 2 at MK (closes at 11pm)? Where should we stand to get to the Monorail quickest and still have a good view of Illuminations? About how long do you think we will have at MK?
Thanks!

Yes, I think you'll be able to get to MK to do one or two rides. IllumiNations is 12 minutes in length (according to Disney's webpage), so it should be finished by about 9:15 pm. My guess is between travel time and dealing with the crowds, you'll probably get to to the MK about 10:00 pm.

To get to the monorail the quickest, I'd probably opt to stand somewhere towards the front (i.e., closest to Future World). If you really wanted to save time, you could position yourself to watch the show close to International Gateway, then as soon as it ends, head to the Beach Club and take a taxi to the Contemporary Resort. If you ask to be taken to the MK, the taxi will drop you off at the TTC, which means either a monorail or ferry ride and then you won't have saved any time. From the Contemporary, you can walk to the MK. It's about a half of mile from CR valet (where thet taxi will most likely drop you off) to MK's bag check. The taxi ride will be about 10 minutes (from the Beach Club to the Contemporary). Honestly, I think it might save you about 15 minutes or so over the monorail (assuming you're near the front of the monorail crowds), but it's not going to be a huge amount of time.

If you want to take the monorail, you want to stand somewhere around here, and I would start to leave and walk away before the show actually ends.

Problem is, you have to wait for the monorail, then switch at the TTC. I would budget for about 45 minutes from leaving the World Showcase and getting off the monorail at MK.

Now, if you splurged on a cab I would suggest watching Illuminations from the bridge that connects UK and France, then leaving via the International Showcase and catching cab from the lobby at the Yacht/Clubs. I would think you could save 15-20 minutes that route:
