Epcot Swap: COMPLETE

All I can say is WOW Y'ALL :thumbsup2 the swap stuff looked so great. And thanks so much for the pictures. Those really help me to see what's done and expected on a swap. I'm slowly getting my nerve up. :goodvibes

I wanted to ask a couple of questions, please, and hopefully someone or two could enlighten me.

1: How did the person find a Stave Church and a little ship for Norway? Did you print it out on the computer and then color it or is it a sticker or what? I'm dying to know!

2: The little cute file folders, are those cut out with a machine or just made? I've actually never seen them before and they look so cool.

3: I can't remeber if I saw a shaker box, but maybe someone will know. I get, sort of, the construction of a shaker box but what are you sticking the whole thing together with that tough enough to hold it?? At first I thought brads on the corners, but I didn't think just a gluestick on the sides would be enough. Or is it????

And I would like to be considered for the Jan swap, please. I'm not totally new to scrapping, just swaping. But I've learned so much on these boards, I think by then I would be ready. I just wanted to put my name out there in case there was a list or something. I don't know if the lost lady turned up, but I would be please to fill her spot if someone hasn't already.

Anyway, thanks so much for any help!

Thank you!!! I'm glad you liked the photos!!! Jump right in and get your feet wet and join the next open swap... I'm not sure when the next one will be.. I've promised my family I'd lay out of them until Jan. I'll of course do the ones I've already committed too!!!
Ok, to help answer your questions...
1. The Norway ones.. I unfortunately don't have an answer.. But I'm sure YodasMom can give you the answer. Don't you just love them!!
2. The cute small folders are from a sizzix die cut. I love it!!!
The bigger file folders may also be from a die cut or template but I'm not sure.. I only have the small one...
3. What I do with my shaker boxes is I adhere them with "running" tape.. I love it.. DH says we need to own stock in it!!! I've also just tried using the foam board as my barrier between the two (instead of double stick mounting tape) and adhere them with the running tape..make sure your transparent paper is secured tightly or all those little goodies will come flying out at you! (Been there; done that one, what a mess!)
I'm not sure of anyone missing out right now but if you'd like I'd be happy to keep you posted if we need an ANGEL in the next batch of swaps that are currently going on!!

I opened up all my goodie bags today. Wonderful work ladies! And thank you for all your hard work, Nancy, especially with all the angelling you (and your daughter) had to do! I know that took a lot of time on your part and I know we all appreciate it!

Got mine!!!!!! :cool1: VERY nice, everyone!!!! :thumbsup2 Thanks to everyone in group 4 and special thanks to Nancy for hostessing!!!

1. They are stickers, I have the same set. You can but them at Michael's and ACMoore.
2.My file folders are from a template(the Sparkly Epcot ones), I printed it on the computer, shrank it and cut a stronger template out of uncut mylar stencil sheets from Plaid.
3.Some people use 3-D foam tape for the shaker boxes. I guess it depends on how thick you want it. I however have not been brave enough to attempt shakers, yet...

Keep an eye out for Newbie swaps, these will really help get your feet wet.

You are very welcome!!! We had fun doing it!!! :)

Nancy: Thank you so much for the great info. I'm already starting to muse over my first shaker box. :thumbsup2 I think I got confused on swaps and the lady that went missing was from another one that also had pictures. I'm a junky for the pictures. ;) If need a name for the Angel list, certainly put me on. I hate to see when people get caught out.

BernardandMissBianca: Stickers, good to know. It's also good to know that I'm going blind when I go to my Michael's. I'll have to keep a better eye out.

Holy cow! I'll think I try shaker boxes before I try all that. :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone.

Wow! The stuff arrived this morning and I've been cooing over it most of the day! It's all incredible and I can't wait to get using it, hoping to do so this afternoon!

Just jump right in, you will become addicted as much as the rest of us. :)
When a swap opens just sign up, it is really fun.
I have the sizzix die cut now, but when I first started making mini file folders I just took one and traced it on to the paper and cut them out, I really like making them now.
As for the shaker boxes, they are very time consuming to make, I don't really make many. I use the 3-D dots.

Welcome and hope to see you around. :goodvibes

Sorry, I missed this post! The Norway stickers are made by Stickopotamus and are from their Destinations Sticko line. Hope this helps!

I think I mentioned on another thread that there is a craft store in my area that is going out of business and I got some terrific deals on embellishments so many of mine were from there. Right now their things are 90% off and not much is left. They also had TONS of Jolee's three dimensional Fab 5 and Pooh stickers which helps me with some of the character swaps, too.....especially at 90% off!

I just got a chance to open my box and I love all the stuff! Thanks for all great work, eveyone, and to you Nancy for hosting! I'm looking forward to the next one!

Getting concerned. N.E. Eeyore got her stuff, as well as Queenie, it should have been here Thursday or Friday. I hope it comes Saturday and I hope the mail lady puts it in a plastic bag!

I want in on the January Swap. I didn't start swapping until after the EPCOT and MGM ones were closed.

I love doing shaker boxes. I think they are fun. I use the foam tape between the layers. When I adhere them to an album I use a sturdy glue like a think tape runner or glue dots.
