What part of Epcot do you go around on the Segway tour? How do you book the tour?
princess:

We did the two-hour Epcot Segway Tour in February and paid $68 per person with a AAA discount.

The Segway Tour is the most fun we've ever had at WDW. We LOVED it!

Have fun!

$80 per person, tour lasts 2 hours, discounts available for AAA members, so I imagine there are discounts for Disney Visa cardholders and maybe AP holders, etc.

The first hour is in a room in the convention center (that big pavilion....what's it called?), then you go out single file after your instructor through World Showcase. You start in WS in Canada, going clockwise around the whole circle. It is a total blast.

Below is a pic from our '05 Segway Tour. We liked it so much, we're doing it again July '06. We paid $68/pp with the Disney Visa discount.

Wow it looks absolutely brilliant....I think I will consider this for our trip next Easter.

You'll never want to walk around WS again! It is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. It might seem strange but it is quick and easy to learn - you'll come away wanting to buy one!!

AP holders get 15% discount.

Can children (age 13 and 15) go on them, or is it adults only?

The tour is 2 hours starting at 830 and 930 am wed-mon. i am not sure about the age requirement but you must weigh between 100-250lbs. we are going Feb 5th at 930!

You have to be at least 16. We did the Segway tour around downtown Chicago in the fall and it was a blast. I want to do the Epcot tour when we go in November, but DD will be 14. I sent email to WDW and asked about the age, said she had experience etc, but the message (pretty generic) that came back said 16 is the minimum. Too bad! I'd highly recommend a Segway tour--its terrific! Very easy to learn and use.

Love your Segway reports & your pix. Who took the pix??? Does Disney do take shots during the tour??

There is a little pouch on the front of the Segway so you can put a bag/camera in that and the instructors will let you stop for pics - they gave us some free time in a part just around Italy where you can go on your own and they will take your pics.

Three of the four in our group want to do the Segway Tour...I assume as long as the park is open that the fourth could just be a spectator/photographer (with park admission, of course) and tag along while the others toured on their vehicles? Anybody done that? thanks!

The shot on my signature was taken by one of the two CMs that led our group. We took some of our own pics and they volunteered to take some also. During the riding part of the tour, you get about ten minutes of "free" riding time in front of the American Adventure. The CMs set out a few orange cone barriers and we were allowed to ride, rest, and/or take pics at our leisure.

If you do the 8:30 tour, World Showcase WILL NOT be open during your time there. That's why I chose the earlier time. WS is virtually empty as you ride through. WS opens at 11:00, so the 9:30 tour may encounter some guests in that area. However, you'll probably enter WS BEFORE it's officially open. I seriously doubt the CMs would allow a non-participant to "tag along." Of course, you should check with Disney to be sure. Have fun!

We did the Segway Tour in October and it was a BLAST!! DH and DS thought I would have trouble, but I did not, it is easy to learn and fun to ride.
If a non-participant were allowed to tag along (and I don't think they would be for safety reasons), then they would spend much of the time running to keep up with the group. It doesn't even sound appealing to me. HTH

Interesting to note, we thought the same thing, that I might have slight difficulty with operating the thing. Turns out DH had more problems than me. Reason being that he works daily with BIG industrial equipment and often uses body movements that are "bigger" than was needed to ride the Segway. The Segway doesn't need as much help to move forward as what DH kept trying to give it.

Facinating machine....

It's almost as if it reads your mind...
