Epcot review: Just back

We first took our daughter there when she was 5 and it is her favorite park! She liked making the masks and getting her passport stamped at each country. We even took a picture of her with a CM in each country for her scrapbook. She loved Test Track, Living with the Land and the "Ellen ride with dinosaurs". I would definitely take them there as I think they can find a lot of things to do from a kids perspective.

My DD is also 5. I didn't know how EPCOT would go over with her, but I knew I wanted to go.

She loved EPCOT. We actually spent a couple of days there. She loves riding Spaceship Earth. Heck, she loved everything in Future World:
  • Turtle Talk w/ Crush and everything at the Living Seas
  • Soarin' and Circle of Life at the Land. (Didn't get to do Living with the Land) She absolutely loved Soarin' and wanted to ride it again.
  • Journey Into Imagination and Honey I Shrunk the Audience at Imagination!
  • Much to my surprise she loved the dinosaurs in Ellen's Energy Adventure at Universe of Energy.
  • Unfortunately Wonders of Life was closed.
  • After riding Mission:Space, we decided she wasn't quite ready for it (but my wife, my dad and I all loved it. He's an ex-Air Force pilot so it was like old times for him.)
  • She and I rode Test Track together and she absolutely loved it, too.
  • She really enjoyed making a robot at Innoventions West. We all enjoyed Ice Station Cool.
  • For some reason we didn't make it to Innoventions East.
  • She loved watching the Dancing Fountain.
  • Probably her favorite thing in Future World is the big play fountain behind Spaceship Earth. We brought her bathing suit specifically so she could spend as much time here as she wanted. And she spent LOTS of time here.
  • Oh! And of course she loved Mouse Gear. It was tough to get her out of there.

At World Showcase we didn't hit every county, but she had a blast there, too.
  • France - She loved meeting Belle and the Beast. We took some great pictures or her and them.
  • Morocco - We spent a lot of time here. This was the 1st Kidcot station she stopped at. She started on her mask. The cast members were great. One even wrote her name on the back of her mask in Arabic. From that point on, we asked the cast members at each country to write her name on the back in their respective languages.
  • Japan - She loved the bonzai tree exhibit, the metal toys exhibit and the Matsuriza (Japanese drum) performance.
  • She really enjoyed the shaved ice treat at Italy. (I can't think of the name of it right now, but it'll come to me after I post this.)
  • We spent a lot of time at Mexico. We watched the mariachi band and she danced and danced. She loved El Rio del Tiempo and we rode it 3 times. We ate at San Angel Inn Restaurant. The food was great. Afterwards, she enjoyed the Kidcot station. Then we bought a sombrero that she "had to have".
  • And we watched IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth from a vantage point in front of France. She was in awe.

mom22boys,

Trust me, Epcot has so much to entertain and inspire your children. After all, it's WDW! They'll love it!

They also like the train village in Germany and the Thomas the Train table in the UK Toy Shoppe

Now I know my boys will LOVE Epcot!

This is the best thread ever! Thanks to everyone for all of the information. It is so helpful!

My children (ages 11,6 & 3) all love Epcot - and so do their parents!!

The train setup outside in the Germany section of World Showcase is a great gem of World Showcase. We always visit that and the kids stand on the little bridge and follow it's path. All of us enjoy El Rio de Tiempo in Mexico too. We also enjoy spending time in the gardens/waterfall area in Canada pavilion.

Living Seas is one area that I can never get them out of - they love to look at the dolphins/fish & Crush is just the best! I love it too!

Test Track tops the list for my 6 year old son (he spends so much time in the cars/concept car area at the exit of the ride - before the gift shoop).

Mission Space for my 11 year old son (I don't let my six year old go on that - not til he's 10 - We feel it's waaaay too intense for him).

My daughter loves Figment & the great Imagination Play area at the end of Figment's ride. She also loves the fountain show - the high flying bursts of water & music!

But her all time favorite thing about Epcot is the big red double decker bus with all of the characters. They make so many stops throughout the day - and the autograph opportunity is wonderful! :goodvibes
