I'm thinking the Beach Club had the most recent room renovations (2003?) Does anyone know if the Yacht Club or Boardwalk Inn have had room renovations more recently than the Beach Club? Having to pay rack rate for a Deluxe makes me want to have the best chance of getting a room with the least wear!

I'm prety sure that the YC rooms have been renovated in the last year or so. We were just there and our room seemed pristine. We loved it.

The S/D just finished their room renovations in recent months. Their rooms are fabulous. IMHO, their beds are the most comfortable in WDW! They are painting the outside of the resorts now.

When we were in WDW last month, it looked like the YC was having an extensive rehab on the last wing. Not sure if it's done yet or not.

We stayed at YC just a month ago and the room was in excellent shape. The furnishings looked brand new and everything looked sparkling clean. There were no signs of wear in our room with two exceptions: the lock on the room safe required a little jiggling before the key could be removed and the ceiling fan made a noise like there were little squirrels running around in the ceiling. The fan noise was only noticeable when the room was completely quiet so there was no problem during the day but we couldn't leave it running during the night. We occasionally do get flying squirrels in our attic at home so I'm very tuned into that sound!

Thanks for the quick response! So does anyone know if the YC & BC rooms were renovated at the same time? If not, which one was more recent? How about the Boardwalk? Doe anyone know the last time the rooms were renovated? Thanks guys!

I'd be interested in this as well. I'm booked at the Polynesian right now but I'm considering changing to get a room that's been renovated more recently. :flower:

I know exactly what mean, cinderlexa's mom, if I'm going to pay this much I want the freshest room possible.

I was at the BWI in Dec 2001 and they were just finishing a renovation on the outside of the resort. At that time they were not going to be doing the rooms themselves. I don't know if they ever got around to doing a complete room renovation but would be interested to find out.

then switch from the Poly. It is FAR to pricey for the sparceness and outdatedness, IMO. You'll be glad you did.

Just a note that depending on when you are going, the rooms at the Poly are being refurbished now. Tonga is done, oh gosh, the one that starts with an "A" is being done now and I have heard Tahiti and Tokelau are next and should be done by December if not before, as long as the schedule doesn't change. I hope I am not disappointed in the Poly - we are staying there in December.

The BC and YC rooms are beautiful though so I think that's a good choice too!

We were in the "A" bldg...Aotearoa. The monorail went right passed our room...so if you got MOONED in Aprill... :rotfl2:

Not to get off topic but at least this post will bump the thread up anyway.

stingmom: I will probably be switching my ressies to the YC. The Poly was fine because they were planning to begin renovations but the schedule keeps getting pushed back. I've been noticing many positive reviews of the YC.

tjmouse: I wish I could trust that the renovations are proceeding but I don't. The latest posted was that Tahiti, Tokeleau, Hawaii, and Rapa Nui would not be done this year. For myself I would be disappointed if I got there and received a non-updated room IMHO.

Anyone? Still wondering if the YC rooms were renovated at the same time as BC (2003)? Also, if you know the last time the BWI rooms were renovated? Anyone who can help thank you in advance!

If I remember correctly:

BWI : '02
BC:'03
YC:'04

Dolphin finished renovations in 2004 and I think the Swan was right before that.

Hi all:

Am new to the board. What a great source of info!

I am planning a trip to WDW in October and it seems like YC is a great option. Does anyone know whether the YC's room renovations were indeed completed in 2004 and, if so, what those renovations included (e.g., new carpet, bathroom renovations, furniture)? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I know the YC is quite old and we certainly want to make sure that we're getting the most for our money! Thanks.

I would like to know this too. I didn't even know the rooms needed renovating.

See you there in October!
