We are considering a resort change to an Epcot hotel, but I have read that some look worn and will soon be refurbished. Moving from a POR Royal Guest Room to an Epcot resort is about 100 more a night…I would be bothered if the room looked run-down at those prices. We will be there right before Thanksgiving.

Which of the Epcot hotels have been recently redone? We noticed that the studio villas are also available at a bit lower price - we like the idea of those, we think - if they have been redone recently.

Any help/advice would be wonderful - thanks!

Beach Club rooms have all been re done and look beautiful and tasteful, the Yacht Club keeps their rooms refreshed replacing what needs be as it wears out, very clean and nicely themed, Boardwalk rooms are nice with Jewel tones colors and very whimsy.... For the price the close proximity to the parks can't be beat and you have great dining options close by along with boardwalk entertainment.... It's always a wonderful stay for us... We are also doing a Royal room this year for my daughters request, and I will so miss this area and the Beach Club...

The Swan rooms have all been redone completely, so don't rule that out. The new rooms look very nice & a bit improvement over the old decor!
The Boardwalk Inn was redone recently, but not quite as recently (we just stayed there in March, and for the cost I won't stay there again even with a discount - didn't really love it this time).

The Boardwalk Villa studios are being refurbished, The Beach Club Villas are due, but delayed

The Boardwalk Inn and the Beach Club have recently been done. The Yacht Club should start this year.

Thanks for all this info - it is very hard to figure out what a room/location is "worth" when you are new.

IMHO the larger rooms, multitude of dining options, better pools and being able to walk to 2 parks is definitely worth the extra $$.

We stayed at YC two years ago and have stayed at BWI, BWV, BC and BCV just over this past year (plus multiple times before). We've stayed in both recently and not-so-recently refurbed rooms and, honestly, they were all great. The location of the resorts just really cannot be beat. I prefer BC, BCV, BWI and BWV over YC because of theming and proximity to EP and DHS. Honestly, I would choose whatever is cheapest! You can't go wrong with any of them! BC and BCV will get you the closest to EP. BWV will get you the closest to DHS. We've stayed at the Dolphin and if Swan or Dolphin prices out much cheaper than the WDW resorts, it could be worth it. Just know, you won't get 180+10 ADRs, MBs or DME with a Swan/Dolphin stay, so you need to factor in transportation to and from the resort in your costs if you choose one of those resorts.

Just wanted to chime in that we love the Epcot area resorts and stayed at BWI pre- (2013) and post- (2014) refurb and thought the refreshed rooms were lovely. Little touches like modern tiling in the bathroom and and updated vanity really made the room feel up to date. Honestly, the pre-refurb rooms were nice as well, though. I like to think Disney does a good job of making sure things don't get "too bad" before they schedule the refurbishments. Looking forward to staying in the refurbished Beach Club rooms this December!

If I could stay at an Epcot area resort it would be Beach Club, hands down. The refurbed rooms just look beautiful, they did such a great job with those (as they always do). It is more fresh and new look.. perfectly themed for the resort. Stormalong Bay just looks amazing and so much fun. We love Cape May Cafe. And Epcot being my favorite park behind the MK, walking there in only 5 minutes would be worth it to me alone. And of course there is Beaches & Cream! Yum!

We jus stayed at Swan Dolphin. It was ok. Not impressed at all sadly. Very crowded, messy and loud
