We are thinking of having our reception at the Living Seas, but what I was wondering is, if we have our reception at 5:00, can our guests watch Illuminations after?

I would like to have an afternoon ceremony and a dinner reception, however, we want to do an illuminations dessert party. I'm worried that we wont be able to fit it all in? :confused3

That's doable...If the reception starts at 5, you can wrap it up around 8-8:30 and get everyone over to the WS for Illuminations.

this is exactly what i'm doing in March. Our cermoney is at 2 with reception afterwords(sorry i don't know the exact time) and then we are heading out for the suprise illuminations dessert party!

here is our timing

Ceremony is at 2:30 at WP
Pre-reception (cocktail hour) at LS at 3:30
Reception and dinner at LS at 4:30
Technically we are losing 15 minutes from our reception for transportation over to the Dessert Party

so at 8:15 we board buses to go to Italy Isola for Illuminations and then the dessert party ends at 9:30.

we had our dessert party the night before our wedding. we did this so everyone could see illuminations and spend some time together and get to know one another the day before. it was also a really nice ice breaker for everyone to meet so there would be no awkward moments during the wedding and reception. it's also a nice way to spend your last night as a single woman: watching illuminations while having dessert.

Thanks for the help, everyone :thumbsup2 So, if I have my reception at Epcot and than, do the illuminations dessert party, than I wouldnt have to pay for the transportation of my guests, correct?

you will hve to pay for tranposrtation for this type of thing. Unless you speak to your planner about having all your guests use tickets and take their own transportation to the park and meeting you at the Living seas. It is my understanding that for an EPCOT event you must use Disney transportation. ou guests plus you will need to pay for guides for your guests. we have 2 for our 80 guests.

Another thing to consider, Disneys basic rule is that Brides cannot walk through th park in their dress, i didnt realise guests couldnt. However depending on how many guests you have a limo/town car may work out cheaper as the coach is a minimum of 5 hours!

I had my reception at the AA vip room in Epcot. There were 17 of us and I had to have a guide to walk us through to our viewing area. We also had to have transportation at a huge cost of $330 for 2 limo's to take our guests back to their hotel rooms. They gave us no other option, we couldn't walk and we couldn't take a taxi. We were staying at the Yacht club (a mere 5 minutes walk away!).
Check with your EM on Epcot rules for transportation.
