I know on some of the other boards, leaving your car somewhere and going elsewhere has been a big debate. I was told to do this by CR today and am know wondering about legistics.

I will be arriving at Epcot at 8:15am for the Backstage Magic Tour. (Epcot is open 9-9 that day and MK is open 9-10). The tour ends at 4pm. I am having high tea at GF and staying to tour the hotel, have dinner and than see the water parade. CR told me not to try and drive to GF to get on the monorail as the timing they could give me for PS was tight.

My question is, will I be able to get a monorail back to Epcot after Epcot closes if MK is still open, and if so, are there any parking lot issues to be concerned with. I woulkd think by arriving early my car will be near the front, but I am traveling as a solo female.

Thanks in advance (and sorry for being so wordy)

What time is your tea reservation? I'm trying to remember where the BM tour ends--you'd think I'd know--I've taken it twice!

It could be tough getting back to the Epcot lot after 10pm...but WDW will get you there, even if they have to drive you in a security van.

C&D would know for sure, but I would guess that the monorail will continue to run to the Epcot lot until at least 10:30 that night--you won't be the only person on it--a lot of people leave Epcot as Illuminations is ending so they can rush over to see the MK fireworks.

And enjoy tea--it's divine!! There's a wonderful server there--Dennis--if you can get him.

Thanks for the info. I assume since you have done BM twice it must be amazing. I booked a solo trip becuse I have wanted to do it for years and either we have a child with us or are in a group and no other adult wants to go and I will seem totally anti-social:o

My high-tea PS is at 4:30. They told me that was the latest they had avail but being a few minutes late won;t be a problem.

If you have any other hints for either I would appreciate it!

Thanks again
Sandy

First thing I will say... CRO doesn't wear purple pants... never trust 'em... LOL... :) Driving to the GF would definetly be quicker than taking the Monorail. No questions about it. Just make sure you know how... Follow the signs for Magic Kingdom... at the Toll Plaza, stay right. At the Traffic Lights, take a Left. You'll pass the Polynesian, take your next Right. If you do decide to drive, I'd recommend Valet parking... the Self-Park lot is soooo far away.

If you wish to take the Monorail:

The Epcot Monorail will run until 10:30pm, -OR- 60 minutes after the Magic Kingdom closes, whichever is LATER. After the Monorail shuts down, a bus from the TTC will take you over to the Epcot parking lot.

The parking lots are decently lit, and arriving early in the morning, you'll be very close to the Monorail Station I'd imagine. I seriously doubt there would be any safety/security issues even late at night. However, ff for whatever reason you would like someone to walk out there with you, just let a Monorail Host/Hostess know, and they'd be more than happy to call Security for you. They'll take you out to your car. :)

Since you're going to be spending the rest of your night there anyways, you might as well. Saves you the hassle later on of getting the car.
