Are we crazy to try to do epcot on a friday during F+W? Crowd levels are projected "low" (2/10) for this date - 10/30 - but that doesn't account for F+W crowds and we'd rather not deal with drunk crowds like I've read about on here. Will a weekday be better? Or should it be no big deal and the issues few and far between?

Fridays and Saturdays during food and wine will be significantly more crowded than during the week, although the crowds will mainly be around the world showcase- if you want to do things in future world no big deal but if you want to try things at the kiosk and such I would choose a different day if possible.

Friday will be just like any other weekday until about 3-5 pm when the locals start getting off work. Then you will be dealing with "drunk crowds." if you can hop in the evening you will be fine with a Friday but get out of WS (maybe move to Future World) before 5 or so, or have something scheduled like a dinner reservation.

If you stick to Future World, it is a great time to go. Otherwise, I would go on a weekday.

Personally I would never go on a Friday or Sat. night unless I'm there without the kids and willing to drink. The one time I almost got into a fight at a Disney park was a Friday night at Epcot during F&W because some ******* drunks ran into wife.

For the most part, I agree that if you're going to stick with Future World then it won't be an issue. If you were hoping to enjoy in the F&W kiosks, then I would try to go on a weekday or stick to lunch time/early-afternoon on Friday. The lines weren't really that bad at lunch, but by late afternoon the lines were long. I've been on several weekend nights in the past, and really haven't noticed that many falling down drunk guests like others have described, but I have seen a number of guests that seem "happy" bordering on buzzed. I wouldn't avoid Friday night because of the behavior I've seen, but I would avoid it because of the crowds and lines at the kiosks.

Our options are Friday or Sunday, and I'm assuming Sunday would be worse crowd wise?

I think it really depends on which meal you are planning to go to the F&W for...if you're looking for a lunch time visit to F&W, I would go on Friday before the evening crowds arrive. If you're looking to go for a dinner, I would probably consider going on Sunday because the locals have to work on Monday, so they're less likely to be visiting the F&W and drinking a lot on Sunday evening. I do still think Sunday evening will be busy, but perhaps not as buy as Friday evening.

I go to WDW 3-6x year since 2005 and frankly, I haven't seen a crowd day below '4' in at least 4 years. I think a '2' is very inaccurate.

As others have said, IF you can go during the week that is preferable. I have not found Friday crowds to thicken until about 4 pm. I would give a marginal edge to Sunday evening.

if you want an evening tour of WS and Illuminations, pick Sunday over Friday.
