Epcot Member Lounge questions

What about members' kids? And other family members? As Kat4Disney said, its limited to member + 5 guests. We're here now with DS, DDiL & their 3 kids, plus my sister. So I guess we can't use it, unless someone stays outside, or they allow us one extra guest since both DH and I are members.
This is what I was thinking-I can't see DVC ever changing DVC special events/lounges to not allow minors (unless it is for something with an age restriction like a backstage tour) because they use these perks to advertise and sell DVC direct (especially vs buying resale). I would think a large portion of prospective DVC members have/plan to have children who cannot be members while they are underage. These perks wouldn't be worth much to a family if they can't have their minor children attend with them.

If the member leaves, the entire party is supposed to leave.
That may be the rule, but as I do not remember handing over my Member Card & ID to check out of the lounge, I don't know how they would ever know.

You are supposed to let the CM know you are leaving and they will remove the party from the list which will free up those spaces for other members.

Will do if we visit the Lounge again.

They have always asked for our name as we left and I watched them cross our name.

They have to manage capacity. With a waiting list, and with the bathrooms are outside of the lounge, they keep track somehow.

However, do the CMs in the lounge know who in the party is/are the member(s) and who isn't? And who's in the same party? Or do they just have a list of names? If they just have a list of names, they don't know if the member leaves and the guest stays. And I've always been reminded when I leave to tell the CMs at the desk, so they can cross my name/number off their list.

They record the member name and number of people.

We are looking forward to trying it out when we are there. Is it on the second floor? Do you just go up a flight of stairs? I hope so because I don't do elevators. I even climbed the stairs at Bay Lake towers to see the fireworks... i
hate elevators.

There are stairs as well as an elevator for those who require one.

@ILoveMyDVC ... I am the sole DVC owner on my contracts and routinely travel with 7 other family members. Last August, I did not know about the member +5 limit. When I was informed by the CM, I politely commented that it seemed odd given that we were all staying in the same 2BR villa. She looked something up on her computer (whether to check the numbers in the lounge or confirm that we were all staying together, I couldn't say), then she happily let us all go up.

We didn't stay overly long, maybe 30 min or so, but it was a great place to take a break!

Since you seem to be in a similar situation, it couldn't hurt to politely ask.

Personally, I think a better limit than "member +5" would be "member + any guests staying in the member's villa" ... at least then the number of guests is tied to something other than owning/travelling with other members.

Thank you! I totally agree - I also think the member should be staying on points if using the services. I imagine local members could inundate the lounge hence the limit.

I planned to ask because one of the party is 2 years old therefore isn't ticketed, charged for the dining plan, or given FP+.
