Hello dear friends who helped me so much last year planning a WDW trip and a Disney Cruise.
We are doing the cruise again in Jan 2018, a 5 day 4 night mon-fri cruise. We are now looking to spend the weekend prior to the cruise in the epcot/hollywood area. Just curious if anyone knows if the prices of the resorts in that area are low or high due to the time of year. We are looking at the boardwalk, the beach club or the yacht club. We did wilderness lodge last year while under construction and got a nice deal and loved the lack of people. Thinking that because the Yacht club in under construction also that it would be similar. Any feedback/info is greatly appreciated.

Depends on your dates. For marathon weekend, they will be expensive.

YC will not have a "lack of people." WL closed down a wing entirely and booked only half the rooms. YC will be booking all rooms.

Check out Mousesavers.com for their resort chart with rack rates for rooms at each resort listed by date/season(tax included) to see what rates were this yr. for your dates. You can also check out the historical discounts chart to see what has been available at that time. It might help you give you an idea of what to expect to help you plan.

Marathon isn't the priciest weekend of the year, but it's premium, and discounts are few. Epcot resorts are very popular for runners and their posses.

Expect to pay rack.

(And before someone suggests "rent DVC!" at BCV or BWV, too late for that for marathon.)

As cassie58 said, Mousesavers is a good resource for when I want to find out the least expensive weeks in a certain timeframe. Last year I decided I wanted to make a long time wish to stay at Grand Floridian a reality. I consulted mousesavers to see what was the least expensive weeks in January or February.

Here are the 2017 rates and season dates. You can see how much rates fluctuate in any given month.

Can't go wrong with any of the EPCOT resorts, great location. Each one has pluses and minuses, but they are all really good resorts.

We find YC to be quieter than the BC and BWI. The majority of the YC rooms have a balcony or patio so it's our choice over BC.
