I have begun making dining reservations this morning for my December trip and EPCOT has ZERO availability. I realize they have to block off restaurants for CP, but I have never seen them block off everything. This is insane.

The only thing I was able to find was Via Napoli and that is the last one we should visit since I have a gluten intolerance and dont like pasta. LOL

That doesn't seem possible, June 4th is the 180th day out from December 1st.

Computer glitch maybe?

What's CP? .... :confused3...... All these abbreviations get to me sometimes.

Same problem here! I nabbed Via Napoli, since we're only allergic to peanuts here.

What is CP and why is it messing with my dining plans? ;)

I hear ya! I've been whining about it myself this past week!

Okay, usually they block out SOME for CP packages - but really, everything? We want Garden Grill... nope. And we even want it like 7:30, 8:00 - wayyyy too late for it to be a time blocked for a CP package. Nope.
I dread it every year trying to book my Epcot ADRs - and this year all blocked.

CP is Candlelight Processional. :)

It is so hard to get reservations that we are truly considering that this will be our last December. We dont do/like Halloween and all that comes with it, but we are leaning towards early October next year.

Maybe you should call Disney Reservations. I just booked Marrakesh, Biergarten, and Tutto Italia. Couldn't get Garden Grill or Coral Reef yet.

I just called Disney Dining, and there is really, truly no way to book Coral Reef right now.

It would be nice if they made a note on their website WHY these restaurants aren't taking bookings. I had to call to find out what was happening and I really think this information should be made avaliable.

Just got off the phone w/ wdw dinning le cellier for dinner and coral reef for lunch were not loaded yet. Was able to get via Napoli, bistro de Paris, chefs de France and teppan edo for 11/30-12/9. Cm was unable to tell me when the unloaded restaurants would load. Bad planning by Disney IMO wish they'd decide how many tables they want to hold and let us book the rest.

EPIC FAIL Disney! :teeth:

Count me in as one of the people ticked about this.

My 180+10 day is tomorrow. When I planned the trip, I forgot about the CP table hold and deliberately planned Le Cellier lunch for late in the trip thinking this would GUARANTEE us a table (just want a regular lunch, not CP).

Now, I've come to the sad realization that for certain EP resturants during CP, the 180+10 advantage for resort guests is meaningless. To add insult to injury, once those restaurants are finally opened, a table will be harder to get than normal because so many will be blocked off for CP. Consequently, I have no choice other than to check the Disney dining site multiple times per day and hope to get lucky. :sad1:

It would seem that Disney could make at least SOME tables available for regualar ADR bookings at restaurants such as Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, and Coral Reef. My understanding for why they haven't is because the schedule for CP hasn't been finalized and the demand for CP dinner packages varies depending on what celebrity is involved on a given night.

Even worse is a rumor that, this year, general bookings won't be available until the same day as the CP bookings are available, which isn't until late July (in past years, while non-CP bookings were delayed, they were usually available by mid to lake June). So, if that rumor is true, those of us who just want a regular ADR are going to have to be trying to naviate the system in the same zoo-like atmosphere as those trying to get a CP booking.:sad1:

I can't decide whether this is more of an example of ineptitude or greed on Disney's part.

Ineptitiude because it seems they could finalize the schedule PRIOR TO the 180 day mark for all ADRs from Thanksgiving until year end.

Greed because it's obvious they prioritize profiting from CP to the absolute maximum extent by prioritizing the number of tables they think CP will require and leaving the scraps to those of us who just want a regular ADR (this is why I believe they totally block off Le Cellier, Rose & Crown and Coral Reef - these are all smaller restaurants, so there is a possibility that virtially all of their tables may be needed for CP packages on certain nights).

I suppose some would argue that we always have the choice of not going during the holidays (or not have our hearts set on eating at a certain EP restaurant during the holidays) and should, therefore, stop whining. But this misses the point. If I pay good money to be a resort guest, I should be entitled to all of the advantages promised to resort guests, regardless of the time of year.

One of the most important of those advantages, IMO, is being able to make ADRs 180+10. Obviously, honoring this promise is less important to Disney than maximizing their profits from CP.

When I called DVC this morning to make the other half of my reservations, I was told the same thing. The lady said she was reading from a memo that the more popular restaurants for CP are on-hold until the CP dates go on-sale.

I would call. Grand tea room was showing as unavailable for me my entire trip, and I tried booking online as soon as I could make ressies. My travel agent was told by GF that there was a computer issue. I called last week (almost a month after my other ressies), and I am now booked at my preferred day and time! Their system may be just a bit screwy now:confused3

Oops! Just read some of the other postings, and maybe coral reef is a no go, but I think from now on, I'll be booking by phone if I don't immediately see what I want.

The issue is not a computer glitch, unfortunately. This was planned. I spoke to another CM who confirmed the same thing. She read the same thing from the memo and also added that it is due to the volume of people who book those restaurants for CP. It is an effort to keep people from booking all of the regular tables for that time and then "converting" them to CP. The regular tables and CP tables will open on the same date.

Yes - it was planned. Those restaurants should open up in July for reservations when the CP celebrity schedule is announced (according to what a cm told our agent). I was able to get into Tutto Italia online - the very restaurant they would not allow her to book- at a later time the evening though.

Looks I will need to call for the Tea Room at the GF though - online reservation page is showing nothing for our entire visit.

I absolutely agree Masonmj84. I didn't want a CP package either. What annoyed me, I think, was that we were not told of this beforehand so I've had no time to make alternative plans. My 180 day window opened and I booked all my table service meals in other parks and then got stuck at Epcot. What do I do? I've researched where I want to eat, looked at the menus and now I can't get into a whole bunch of restaurants that were on the list... so what do I book?

We had a mad rush to open up our Unofficial WDW guide, and then to quickly google the menus at other restaurants. We've now made a back up reservation that we're ok with but it wasn't our first or second choice. If I knew about this previously I could have planned accordingly and discussed other options at my leisure. It's fine if they hold the tables back (I suppose), I don't think it's fine that they won't tell you why beforehand so you can make informed alternative arrangements.

Last year @ my 180 + 10 for early Dec. I was able to get Le Cellier for dinner - also in 2010 and 2009 for our early Dec. vacation @ 180+10 so this holding all the tables has to be something new. I had to get up @ 3am west coast time @ 180 days to do it each year - but I did it. Makes you think twice about deluxe dinning if they are going to be doing it this way going forward.
