Epcot FP+ tiers gone...for now.

Agreed.
And for those worried that Disney won't honor these tier 1 FPs?? I'd like to see them try that. They'd have a PR nightmare on their hands as people arrived at the park with valid reservations on their MBs, only to be told they couldn't use them.
What happened was not even recognized as a glitch yesterday. We all actually thought Disney had lifted "tiering". So no one was trying to "game" the system. We did nothing wrong in changing our FPs to take advantage of what we thought was a change in the FP+ system.
It's no different than if you went shopping and found an item at an unbelievable price, only to find out the store had made a mistake. The store has to honor the low price, regardless.
And so does Disney. It's not our fault that their $1 billion system is filled with glitches. Most of them cause undo frustration to us users. This one happened to be in our favor.

Someone posted on another thread that they changed to three tier 1 FP last night and used them all without issue today.

I think this thread is a testament to how many people are actually unhappy with FP+.

Despite how often people have suggested there are only a few people who don't like FP+ ... this is clearly not true. The excitement and pure joy expressed in this thread really demonstrates just how many people have real issues with the current iteration of FP+ with Tiers ....

someone on here will disagree with you - but not me.

I actually considered changing our trip back to WDW parks for a nanosecond...

If every post in this thread was a single comment by one person, which it isn't, there are several repeats by the same people, you would still only be talking about a couple of hundred people.

In terms of the number of people at Disney on any given day that number does not even register.

Thanks to everyone sharing the situation, Disney closed the glitch. :thumbsup2

Yay! Tiers are back!

Said almost no one ever.

An inability to recognize that if there are hundreds here, there are Tens of thousands of people out in the "real world" would be hilarious, if it was not so sad.

Its also sad that people continue to try to cling to the idea that there are many "repeat" posters in the thread, which is just another attempt at trying to suggest not many people are actually unhappy with FP+ and to diminish the legitimate issues that so many people are now expressing about FP+.

Ironically its only a very few people who keep popping into threads and insisting over and over that there are only a few vocal people here who don't like FP+.

Ok lets say you don't have any repeats, you have just under 300 comments in this thread, do you really think that is going to sway Disney. :confused3

I know there are people unhappy with it, hundreds, actually probably thousands, but to a company that deals with millions of guests it is not going to sway them from this program.

The feedback Disney is getting through surveys and guests experience comments is overwhelming positive. A very vocal minority on forums is not going to be enough to warrant any major change.

Not true, thank goodness. The law protects honest merchants who make honest mistakes from jerks who want to profit from their mistake.

But in any event, not relevant. Some people will rationalize getting away with something when Disney makes a mistake, and others will do the right thing. It's small potatoes, and will disappear and have very little effect. Both sides will feel good about what they did. And life goes on, with thousands of people having fun at WDW every day.

Hmmm very good news for the future of FP+ "IF" they can expand attractions/parks enough to remove tiers, and also add to the 3 per day-at least for the recently excited folks on here.

Like you said earlier:

I imagine the code is set up to allow a multitude of flexible options. 1,2,3,4,5,6,10 Fast Passes per person, Tiers on, Tiers off, hard limit 3 FPs, Extra FPs after 3 are used, etc etc, Set parameters over time. Select X options from DATE until DATE ... etc.

The system is being designed to provide "excitement and pure joy" IMO, they just need to get there for some touring styles, and sooner the better. You are on to the "low season" peak season options as well IMO.

I'm thinking the code for "additional FP+ for Deluxe" and "no tiers for DVC" etc.

there are only a few vocal people here who don't like FP+...:duck:

I knew I wasn't going to get in on this glitch.... wahhhhhhhh

Well, I'm not unhappy with FP+ in general. I like the concept of being able to schedule 3 rides.

I do NOT like the tiers. That totally sucks. So I was pretty psyched when I thought they were gone. But then.... No.

Yea I agree this really depends on how the server side interaction is setup.

I imagine this isn't an issue in code, this is probably an issue with options selected through the server interface.

This might just be the result of someone clicking the wrong box, or not setting date restrictions to options etc.

This really depends on the separation between operations and management control and hard code. But I really do imagine the scenario is something like what I have laid out, where coders are setting up a system for park/operations management to be able to interact with without requiring additional code.

This you are correct on. This system has great flexibility and I think after testing and implementation for all groups, resort guests, AP holders and non resort guests have finished, then we will begin to see some of these flexible offerings.

I know when we tested we were awarded extra Fastpasses several times during our test period.

Of course then, even more arguing will ensue if resort guests get more than non, if DVC and deluxe gets more than other resort guests, etc. etc.

You will never please everyone, as most want it personalized to fit them and no one else.

Curious, would dropping the tiers and giving you one extra FP+ be enough to encourage you to travel during a time period that is less desirable than other months.

I can so see them doing this, in order to increase occupancy much like Free Dining does.

And what better what to make guests desire something than to take it away from them first then give it back with restrictions as to when it is available.

Is that actually true? I'm not being snarky I am sincerely interested if you have knowledge of disney survey feedback. I only have anecdotal evidence based on friends/family experience over the past few months and that's been pretty overwhelming negative.

You have NO IDEA if this is true, NONE., none of us do. Unless you have any access to the survey data ???? In fact if you listen to some of the conversations people have had with CMs, the CMs seem to think it hasen't gone over well. But this is just conjecture or hearsay ...

The Entire point is that you just discount the opinions you don't like. You say "meh" its just a few hundred here ... you don't have any concept that those opinions will be reflected, to some degree, in the greater population of WDW goers. This trip coming up, we have 3 other families, we all do not like the sounds of FP+, and are relatively certain its not going to work out for us ... if that's the case, our next trip is to Universal, he haven't been in years, and when we went, it was part of a greater Orlando tour including WDW... we will not touch WDW on our next trip if FP+ plays out how I think it will.

How many people are "here" ??? What do you think the % of people unhappy about FP+ is ??? Lets say 10% ... why WOULDN"T you think this extends to the greater population of Disney guests ? that would be 1.8 Million Guests at MK ... THAT, Disney cares about, massively.

I would wager its more than 10% of people, but I just picked that number to minimize the possible impact, which still makes a huge impact.
