Epcot food and wine question

I am wondering if the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is an "extra" that you have to get tickets for - or is it something just going on during the day that we can visit? My DS 13 is interested in sampling food from around the world. We are not interested in full dinners or any wine. Will there be booths selling samples of different foods? Is this a special evening even (ie not open during the day)? I am hoping that someone familiar with Epcot can answer my questions! TIA

I would like to know as well. I know that the WS doesn't open until 11am - are the booths already set up and going by then or does it usually start at a certain time ?

Nope, it's not extra . . . although they do offer programs that ARE extra. But the festival itself is part of your admission. They'll have booths set up all around World Showcase, just like many of the small stands that are there year round. They're basically a normal part of World Showcase and will operate as such for the length of the festival. Just stroll along and enjoy all the options!

We have gone the last two years and it is a great time. Good food, wine and beer. If you are on the Dining Plan you can use your snack option on the apps. at the booths.

We have been to the Food and Wine Festival 3 different times now and we love it. We plan our trips to the World to coincide with the Festival.
It is not extra, per se. There are many international booths set up all around World Showcase Lagoon. These booths sell sampler size portions of their native foods and they also sell either beer or wine native to their country.
The food samplings have cost $1 - $4 each in the past. We love to "Nosh around the world".
There are also many extra admission events that go on during the Festival. You can buy tickets in advance if you are interested in these.
Throughout each day there are also free beer/wine and even tea lectures held around the world you can enjoy.
They publish a Festival guide which is free and can be found all around the world. It has times and places listed for all of these events.
There is also the "Eat to the Beat" (I think this is the name) free concert series held during the festival at the American Garden Theatre. Each evening there are 3 free concerts, lasting about 30-45 minutes each. The performers are listed in advance, and are generally there 3 or days each. They are basically performers or groups from the 70's and 80's. For example, we say Chubby Checker one year and it was great fun.
We love the Food and Wine Festival and I hope you will too!

anyone recall what time all the booths open??? Are they up and running when the WS opens???

Thanks

The booths are open when WS opens. Well, sometimes a booth isn't open becuase the food hasn't arrived yet. But in general, they all should be open.
