EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

Hi guys! Sorry if these were already answered but i couldn't find the answers .... just a few questions please!!!
1. Is there any benefit to purchasing food and wine gift cards over just charging the food and drink to your magic band?
2. Is there a current map of F&W 2015?
3. I see these pics of awesome trays...where can you buy the ones offered in Epcot?

OK one more quick question....we are staying at Beach Club and plan to hit up Epcot rides starting at 8am (EMH mornings) when the park opens...will we be able to get back to the hotel before the world showcase opens if the WS is roped off?

Yes--you can exit through the International Gateway just as you entered. The walk from the International Gateway through UK and Canada to Future World is not roped off.

1 Yes, you are not dependent on Tragic Band technology which tends to have issues.
2. Not yet, probably next Thursday or Friday
3. The trays at Epcot will be for sale at the Festival Center and at the Food and Wine festival merchandise kiosks around the World Showcase.

We buy Disney Gift Cards at Target each week (5% discount with RedCard or discounted through Sam's Club) to budget for our trip. We don't get the F&W cards at Disney, but we just find that it's much nicer to arrive with everything pretty much paid off before we even arrive.

OrangeCountyCommuter already answered the questions about the trays, but they are really handy to have! We got ours two years ago and they were like $6 each and have actually come in handy at local food fests too :D

I just received tickets to the Chew as well for Thursday 9am- yay!

Does anyone know if it includes admission to Epcot? We are now arriving a day earlier and wondering whether to add an extra day to our package?

The problem with this one is the wine glass holder. Notice that's a REAL wine glass. Disney gives you those tiny plastic things that may fall right though that hole! That's why I have gone with the Disney model.
Yes, IKWYM! It is hard to tell with this one if there is one large or a stepped/small opening from this angle. I was mainly using this as an example of finding a plate with a thumb hold to help stability when holding...

Here is a photo of the F&W one they will have for purchase at Epcot...from what I have read it is relatively small. Not sure of the price but will be $$ due to logo but on the other hand would make a nice souvenir. I think we are going to buy the Tervis (We use them sooo much at home) and they fit perfectly in my tray.

Thank you for sharing. I think this is a great idea!

Can you use a snack credit from the Dining Plan at F&W? Or do you have to pay for the food separately? Would it be a good idea to use snack credits or would it not be worth it to give up a snack credit? Is it possible to get multiple snacks and use a Quick Service credit from the DP?

Does anyone know when the food prices for the booths will be available - or must we wait until F&W opens?

I was putting together an excel spreadsheet this evening, using 2014 prices (for those items that are returning). There are plenty that we'd like to try that are new this year. We will be going to EPCOT at least 6 different times during out 9 day trip - 1 morning/afternoon and 5 evenings - so I'm hoping we can have a taste of everything we'd like to eat and drink. I had read that all those small bites/sips can get pricey - and quickly learned that was very true! So I'd like to make certain that I'm budgeting enough for all our dining, including the food/drinks at the booths.

@sunshinesisters Most of the food can be purchased with a snack credit from the dining plan. We always put a spreadsheet together listing what we want to try and then determine if it will be out of pocket or use a snack credit. For example, using a snack credit for the $7 filet in Canada is a good use but not for the $2 coconut candy in Brazil. As for using multiple snack credits from a QS credit, has not been verified to my knowledge. I am sure as soon as the festival starts, people will post their experience in being able to use a QS converted into snack credits!

That is something I would like to know as well. Does your email not give you any details?

Edited: I thought separate admission was required as with other F&W events but a later poster proves me wrong. Happy to be corrected!

I also am curious to know where they will film. World Showplace? The outdoor theater in the American pavilion?

I didn't even think to do a spreadsheet on cost & snack credits. I am totally doing it now...

Question though, we're going to have Snack credits as well as the Sampler Package entitlements? Should I say they're worth roughly the same cost? And for drinks, which can you use? The sampler credit or the snack credit, neither, or both? Thanks!

No DP credits can be used on alcohol.

If you put a conservative estimate on the value of the pin at $10 you need to value your Sampler Package entitlements at $6.13. Otherwise the entitlements should be valued at $7.37 in order for you to break even on the Sampler Package. There really is no value to the reserved seating for the concerts especially since you can now FP+ it.. For your DDP snack credits the higher the price of a food item the better value for your credits. I won't even delve into what you would need to value 3 snack credits at if you did the QS conversion. As stated already you can't use DP snack credits on the alcoholic beverages.

Thank you! This will help me figure out what to use and where! I appreciate it!

According to the printed ticket, it does include admission to Epcot. (Or at least that is the way I read it.) I have copied the text on the ticket below.

Upon arrival at the Epcot® main entrance, proceed to the check in table, and show a photo ID, to receive the following:
o 1-day theme park ticket(s) (Epcot® only) (exact number of tickets determined by the number of guests requested, and confirmed, via TheChew.com)

o Wristband (s) for admittance to the taping

• Enjoy the rest of your day experiencing Epcot® after the show taping.
