***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

All the Disney ATMS are through Chase, so if that's your bank of choice, you can use any Disney ATM as a Chase customer and accrue absolutely no fees. I actually prefer using the Disney ATMs instead of withdrawing a wad o' cash before my trip.

If you're not a Chase customer, then I guess your method seems to work well. :)

I'm one of those at uses VERY little cash on my Disney vacations. I usually bring enough but if i run short i'll cash a check. They do have daily limits but i don't believe i've ever cashed more than one on a vacation.

This thread has truly been a blessing (or a curse to my wallet!). :lovestruc

First, I bought the wine glass lanyards. Can't wait to get them!

Secondly, I am planning to carry Disney gift cards, and also cash just in case. (We are staying at the Dolphin this trip, so no charging to our room! argh!)

And finally, I bit the bullet and bought "tickets" for the October 4th PFTS!

Only 25 more days to go before our first F&W!!! :cheer2:

YEA!:cool1:
I hope you BOTH enjoy PFTS!

We share almost everything we order at the booths - not only does it allow us to sample more but it does cut back on the amount we spend (at one time), which can add up fast. :scared1:

We usually charge to the room and carry cash for those annoying system crashes that always seem to happen when you're most hungry. ;)

My dad, his girlfriend, and my brother are now booked for the 10/18 PftS - this is going to be a heck of a party! They're all ok with no Cirque, but none of them have done a PftS before so I don't think they'll miss much.

(And psssst...I don't mind it TOO much either since I was always looking for the next thing to sample..)

For the booths, DH and I always share as well - what if we don't like something the first time we try it? We'd have wasted the food/money. And our mantra always is, "we're at Epcot, we have money, we're not going to starve."

With regard to charging F&W events on your room card, we will be staying at the Swan. Do they have the same card charge back privileges? We usually stay at a "real" Disney resort, so I am unfamiliar with the Swan/Dolphin policies. Thanks.

There are very few disadvantages to staying at the Swan or Dolphin, but that does happen to be one of them. You can not charge to your room in any location except the Swan or Dolphin. :headache:

Hi F&W newbie here -

Where is the Odyssey Restaurant? I have never heard of it, so I am guessing that it is there solely for the festival? Any info appreciated. Thanks!

Odyssey is not a restaurant. Rather, it is an auditorium but with no seats. Instead they put tables and chairs there and set it up like a restaurant with a cooking stage (including large, non-HD TV screens to watch the action on stage). I didn't think they were hosting anything there this year.

Actually the Odyssey is a restaurant, just one that hasn't been in public use for many years.

To answer the original question, it is located sort of between Test Track and Mexico. If you look at a map of Epcot and locate the First Aid area, that is where the Odyssey is.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know if they only open it up for the F&W Festival, or is it used for corporate events too?

We had a private character dinner at The Odyssey in April when we did MMDs with our High School. We were lucky to have been chosen as chaperones.

Oct 25 (sat) to Oct 28

Oct 25 *sat):
we are arriving at mco at 2:30 pm so lets say by the time we arrive at our reosrt and head to epcot its 5 pm.

Oct 26 (sun):

might spend a few extra minutes at mk then head over to our other resort (dvc) and check in. Then head back over to epcot again.

Oct 27(mon)

Oct 28 (tues)

So really we only do have 1 full day at the food and wine will this work this is our first time at the food and wine and have no idea what to expect.

This may be in here somewhere, but I can't get the thread search to work.

Does anyone have a map of which kiosks are located where around World Showcase? I'm trying to work out my "grazing strategy".popcorn::

You can probably get it all done in a day. I guess it depends on how many items you are going to sample. I would make sure you pick up the brochure on Saturday and mark the items you don't want to miss. Since you will have some time on Saturday and Sunday evening in addition to all of Monday, you should be fine.

Have fun and wear elastic waist pants!:)

Go go Google!

I did find this OLD one. The positions where they put booths rarely change, but which country goes where does. Use this as a very, very rough guideline. We won't know which booths are where until a little before it starts, when they start putting up booths.

We're going to head over tomorrow evening I think, to walk around. New camera to replace the one DH lost comes in Thursday. DTD L+F still never found our camera. I'm still disappointed to think that someone kept it :(

They won't be opening it for the festival this year - they will be using the former Wonders of Life pavilion.

I don't recall if there are any events to be held in the Odyssey at all this year. The free demos will be held in the Wonders of Life.

It's used for a lot of different events. Some of the Grand Gathering special dinners are held there. This may be why the F&W has been moved from there.
