***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

And that dinner, if the public may buy reservations, is going to be freaking expensive.

I'll be off closing down the Adventurers Club so it won't matter.

My hubby and I were talking about that dinner tonight and pretty much said the same thing - if they sell tickets as part of the Festival programming it would probably be comparable to the prices for the signature dinner at V&A, if not even more depending on which chefs would be preparing the meal.

Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller and more OH MY! What a dinner that would be?!
I agree on the price though .. out of most F&W price range I would think ... well at least ours but we would sure try! Brenda can we go back to the Kidney selling idea?

We should start a pool for when the schedule comes out, getting to be about that time. Also time to subscribe!!!!

That's where we plan to be as well. We're trying to figure out what time we'll have to be camped outside beforehand at this point.

My chef little sister just wept as I read her the cooking competiton details (the weekend before I arrive).
I am visiting her for a few days after Disney. She has strongly hinted at me bringing her some autographed books. Do you know if they ever have any signed cookbooks in the gift shop or if it only at the designated signings that I can get one signed.

I can't tell from that article if those chefs will be on the panel or if they are just members of the board where the panel will come from. It would be awesome if they are, but I don't think we know for sure from that.

On another note, we were able to confirm that Caymus (one of our favorite vintners) will be there Oct. 16-20. Last year, we did their Exquisite Evening and the Discovering Wine seminar on Conundrum. Both events were fabulous, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I'm also trying to find out when Alan Wong will be there. We keep missing him year after year, and he's one of my favorite chefs. I contacted his people several months ago, and they responded that they didn't have the dates yet. I contacted them again this month and haven't heard anything so far.

Alan Wong was one of the chefs at the PFTS that we attended last year. His beef dish was probably one of the best dishes of the night. He was also very nice and signed my program when we were leaving... :)

Oooooooh! I think that means we may be doing the Oct 18 PftS as one of our two.

YES!!

How were you able to confirm this? Not that I mind hearing the news, since I'll be there at that time and love Conundrum  ...but how?

You are welcome Tigercat!
Anything to help us all along on our "patient" (????) wait for the fest! :woohoo:

Hey everyone! :goodvibes I just wanted to mention that I noticed the times for the Eat to the Beat Concert Series that are listed in the 1st post of this thread are wrong.

Here's the official Disney webpage...

Eat to the Beat Concert Info

Show Times: 5:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

We spent some time talking with their representative at last year's festival at the events I mentioned in my earlier post. We got his business card and contacted them a couple of weeks ago. Intially, his assistant responded (he was out of town for a week) and gave us two sets of dates. She said it looked like it would be one or the other, but couldn't confirm until he returned. Once he did, they responded back with those specific dates.

I highly recommend for anyone that if you meet someone at the festival, get their contact info so you can check in with them the following year. Now, they probably will only know a few weeks before Disney announces, but hey, a few weeks means a lot to us uber planners :)

Did I miss any big news that will cause me to beat my head against the wall? :scared1: For some reason, my sub to this thread disappeared! From the few pages I've read back there seems to be a little more news.. Anyone have a wild guess, as to when more info will be released?

Brenda,

Speaking of Utopias, do you think they will have it for sale this year? I know Sam Adams only brews it every two years.

Marcel would love a bottle. We actually had our hands on one last year but we hadn't tasted it yet so we didn't purchase it. Dumb move. :headache:

They did have it for sale last year, it just went very quickly. I just ordered ours for my hubby directly from our local liquor store (Crown in this case).
I had it within a couple days, no problem, and no extra disney price tacked on the bottle.

Okay, I was very intrigued by the Sam Adams Utopias talk, so I investigated (we never tried it before). Does it really NOT taste like beer? Just curious as I really dislike beer...on the opposite end, DH loves Sam Adams beers, but never had the Utopias.

Anyway, this is where I got my info (just in case I'm totally wrong): http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/food/articles/2008/01/23/this_extreme_beer_takes_it_to_the_limit_one_more_time/

Also...anyone ever see Lambic beer at the festival? While I don't enjoy regular beer, I do enjoy the Lambic.

Nothing yet Shovan! We are still waiting....:surfweb:
