EPCOT, Fireworks cruise and M.K.
Against all expectations I really enjoyed TestTrack. We are now the proud owner of a photo which shows all 4 members of the family on the ride. Future world was very interesting and we spent a long time in there looking at all the exhibits. Cranium Command was amusing especially for Andrew who at 14 is not so far removed from those days himself. Spurred on by the sucess of TestTrack I went on BodyWars and managed to remain calm by concentrating hard on the white blood cells etc. as we picked up speed. Spaceship Earth was another of those rides that have become known as 'Mum's sort of ride', calm, leisurely and with some learning or thrill to the imagination rather than all the senses being scrambled at once taking place.

After lunch we headed back for a rest, missing a thunderstorm by minutes and then part 2 of our day began. Ate a light dinner of pasta in the cabin and then headed out again.
We picked up our e-night wristbands at City Hall and then went to the Boardwalk resort by bus to go on the firework cruise. As we had been going around WDW we had been continually amazed at how big the place actually is and this evening we saw some of the resorts at close hand as we dropped people off. The Yacht/Beach Club looked very grand. A few moments panic at the Boardwalk as we hadn't realized how big the resort was and couldn't locate the area that the boat left from.

The fireworks cruise was very special. Before the fireworks started we cruised past the Swan and Dolphin which look better illuminated, round the lake and then anchored under a bridge with an excellent view of the lake. The lights around us were dimmed to enable everyone to have a good view and then the fireworks and music started. For the next ten minutes or so we were enthralled by the music, fireworks and overall special effects of ILLUMINATONS "Reflections of Earth"

Fireworks were not over for us that night as we just got back to the M.K. in time for the last few fireworks. The park looked so much more magical at night, the lights twinkling replaced the glare of the sun and the park took on a more grown-up subtle atmosphere. First ride out was Buzz Lightyear which was very funny. The scores seemed to acummulate on their own. I of course enjoyed the TTA which we had missed on our first visit. Astro Orbiter was also a laugh. Spurred on by these sucesses and seeing an angelic looking child of not more than 5 or 6 going on straight again on Space Mountain off we went. Can't remember much as my head went down the first second it took off but at least in the dark I did not actually see the coaster going up to the top. No extreme reaction like on Primeval Whirl and I began to think that the TOT would not be impossible as if you remember that it is over quick and some parts are very good with the bad ones over before you know them you will survive it. Just not whirling bits
By about 11.30 we had found the Haunted Mansion which was dead creepy. The man in the long frock coat and hat was following round 2 girls in the first room that you are in and they were shrieking and giggling at his menacing manner. The others wanted to go on Splash Mountain and TMR again and so I sat people watching which is one of my favourite occupations. The shrieks and noises from both these rides were louder in the dark and the children enjoyed them very much. They loved the idea of being out so late and of course the heat was so much more bearable. I was wishing all the parks could open later each evening as we all found we had much more energy when the sun had gone down.

All too soon the park closed at 1 am and although we had expected a long wait the buses to take us back to FW were waiting and we were in bed by 2 am.

The Illuminations Cruise is something else isnt it? The resorts too are just fab.

The parks in the Dark take on a whole different feel dont they - I loved reading your report of E night - the one that was scheduled for our trip in May was cancelled!

These are great reports - thank you so much for writing them - I am enjoying them enormously.

........... another Test Track fan here!

I can't believe you managed to squeeze so much into one day and night! Especially two wonderful experiences like the IllumiNations Cruise AND e-night.

Yet again, a great report :)

Thanks for the fab report - luv reading them!!!
