Can you come in the Epcot entrance from the Boardwalk before the World Showcase opens. I noticed that Epcot opens at 9:00am but the World Showcase doesn't open till 11:00am.

Epcot's International Gateway opens approximately in sync with Epcot's front gates, allowing all guests to both enter and exit to/from Future World (passing by the still-closed United Kingdom and Canada) every day during the time when the rest of World Showcase is still roped off to guests.

Or you can go right and into France, which has been open earlier in recent months.

Yes, I have walked around the countries before 11am & have gotten great pics w/ no one in them! :)

I have friends who have routinely gone there for the bakery since the beginning of the year and enjoy no crowds around. :thumbsup2

We love entering Epcot through the Int'l Gateway early in the morning!

Does anyone know if now that the France bakery is open earlier, do they "direct" you back to FW or whether you are able to wander WS before 11? Of course I realize the pavillions won't be open but I love wandering the gardens and enjoying the architecture and would love to spend a quiet morning doing this!

You can only go as far as France from the Canada side, or as far as Norway from the Mexico side.

So, that would mean that you can wander around France, UK, Canada, Mexico, and Norway before opening? That would be such a great time to get pictures! (Do they let you stop in UK and Canada, too, or do you have to keep moving toward FW?) We may have to plan on walking over from Yacht Club for breakfast at the bakery and some crowd-less WS time.!

Most of the time I've been there I never even saw any cast members around or anyone who might tell you to move along. You could probably mill around the accessible parts of the WS for as long as you want.

We stayed at BWV this past August, & I can tell you from personal instances that 3 days that we went to Epcot from our side or (I.G.) that we werre directed to continue through to the left. or ( Towards Future world. ) So I was under the assumption that this was the case for everyone....Mesaboy informed me that this wasn't always the case & that you can indeed continue over towards France..

If someone was able to actually make it around to one of the next few countries I'm sure they would've asked them to kindly head back towards canada...just my thought....But what do I know.:confused3

Keep in mind that the Boardwalk entrance folks are at a HUGE HUGE HUGE disadvantage for getting to the main attractions like Test Track and Soarin at the park open. The other entrance is a lot closer and those folks get there first. Unfortunately, Disney hasn't made an adjustment to stagger the times to make them equally fair.

That's really not much of a factor anymore.

There is no longer any "rope drop holding area."

Guests from either entrance are regularly let in "early" (before the posted opening time) and they can simply walk directly to their chosen first destination.
No longer any "mad rush of thousands" as they all began charging forth at one time, at the dropping of a single rope.

If you get to Boardwalk Entrance at 9am and I get to the other entrance at 9am, and we walk at the same speed to Soarin', I will get there much quicker than you. That was my point.

On any given day, that may or may not be the case.

No its 100% on all days. The walking distance from the main entrance to Soarin is shorter than the walking distance from boardwalk entrance to Soarin. That cannot be disputed.
