Hello,

I am looking for a nice sit down dinner that offers a lake view to watch IllumiNations at. Is this the Rose & Crown pub? What others do this? Can anyone describe what the fare is like, price range, atmosphere, view, etc.

THANKS! :)

At this point, Rose & Crown is only venue that has outside seating where you can see Illuminations (be aware that you may be seated inside the restaurant or at one of the side patio tables with an obscured view - some people have said you can request an outside table when you check in, but others have said they do not take requests - I would not count on getting an outside table).

You can find the menu on the Disney website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/rose-and-crown-dining-room/

The restaurant is designed like a pub (in fact there is a pub attached to it). My family enjoys the food and we usually eat there once.

Don't know when you are going, but Hacienda de San Angel, set to open sometime in September, is rumored to have Illuminations views from tables. They're not taking reservations yet.

At the Rose & Crown too many people were requesting a patio table so many posters have said that they have stopped taking requests. You can ask, but be prepared to take whatever table is offered to you. However, if you are seated inside let your server know you want to see IllumiNations. They will escort you to a viewing area that is reserved for diners at the R&C. They will pace your meal accordingly.

Last fall we were there during free dining and the Food & Wine Festival so Epcot was pretty busy. Rose & Crown was running behind schedule so we had to wait about 20-30 minutes after our ADR time. We did not ask for a patio table, so imagine our surprise when we were seated at one with a perfect view of IllumiNations. If they were accepting requests for patio tables I know we wouldn't have gotten one.

when we ate at the Rose & Crown in May 2009, they actually had a little sign by the check-in podium that said they did not take requests or reservations for patio tables. I heard the server explaining to the lady in front that it was all luck of the draw...you have to take the table that is available when they call your name.

If you definitely want to see Illuminations, I'd eat early enough to have time to find a spot after dinner for viewing
