Epcot Dessert Party- Canada or Rue de Paris?

I am trying to plan a dessert party after my wedding (non-DFTW) next summer 2014. Unfortunately the locations I really want are not available (Italy West Plaza and France upper or lower terrace). Basically, the two options in my budget that are available are Canada and Rue de Paris. I think I've watched Illuminations from the Canada location and I know that sometimes the trees can be in the way of the fireworks portion. From the pics I've seen of Rue de Paris, it looks like there may also be an island of trees that might block some of the view of the moving sphere. If any one has had a DP at either of these location could you offer some perspective on the view? Do any parts of the show have an obstructed view? Thanks!

Both of them have an obstructed view. However, as long as you're not hoping for photos of you in front of the fireworks, Canada is OK because you can see the fireworks out from under the trees (whereas in France the island is always out in the distance). The trees just block the show when you take a photo.

Thanks Carrie! I figured they both had some limitations considering how those were the only available options. We gave them a guest count of about 40 people, and I thought it was interesting how UK upper and lower were not mentioned as options for us, but they could have been booked already.

Our guest count is 40 and we're having ours at UK Lochside, so I'm guessing it must have already been booked.

You could always request they move it to Germany 2 weeks before your event if the space is available. (Carrie has explained that Disney holds that space in Germany for "guest recovery" but that if it's available, you can request your event be moved there, but not until 2 weeks or 10 days before or something like that...)
