Epcot Character question

We were in WDW May 18-24th. On the 21st, between Canada and England, to the right (walking FROM Canada to England) there was a big brown gate that was opened up, and there were characters there. Is that daily, or a special thing? At one point Tink was there, and another, there were about 5 characters, with one being I think the Big Bad Wolf.

I asked the CM and he said it was a spontaneous thing (w/ the wolf) and then the gates shut, and 10 minutes later opened w/ Tink there.

This is one of the spots they do character training!

Epcot is the park they do it in, you can find characters training in groups between Canada & UK, or between Italy & America, usually fur. Face trains in various places, where you saw them, International Gateway, and then in between the character spot building & Figment on the little pathways there :)

These training sessions are completely random and spontaneous. If you stumble upon one, take advantage of it. Many times they involve a mix of common and rare characters. We plan on being on the lookout for them in August.

May I ask what time of day it was that you found them?

The 5 character session was around 10:00 am. We were on our way to England for Alice at 10:30 and stumbled upon them. I'd say the Tink one was maybe 10:40 or so when she started.

My DD was in line for Alice, so she didn't get her pic w/ the wolf (is Big Bad Wolf even a character?). The CM said they'd be there for another 15 minutes. I got her back in 5 and the gate was already closed.

And it was on a Wednesday.

We lucked out in May at this spot! The gates were just opening (prob 11:15-11:30a) just as we were walking by and there was Chip and Dale! My daughter freaked, they are her favorite! (and it was nice that we didn't have to waste a dining credit at Garden Grill just for an autograph!) :cool1: No lines no waiting and they were fantastic with her ! :)

Just looked it up on Kenny the Pirate. It was J. Worthington Foulfellow. Not the Big Bad Wolf that I saw.

Thanks. That's helpful. Foulfellow is a great one to meet. And yes, Big Bad Wolf is in fact a "meet-able" character. That would have been an awesome find as well.

I met Mr. Smee and Pluto in between Italy and America. I was very glad I was at the right moment at the right time. But I must admit, anytime I was at Epcot after that I was always hoping it would happen again!

i was also there in late may and happened to walk by with that same gate open. i got pics with mickey mouse in his tux, baloo, king louey, and goofy.

Was there on Friday May 30, came into Epcot from IG and saw Hook/Smee and Pinocchio (was there about 2pm) walked towards Canada and there was Baloo, Donald, Chip and some others.

On Saturday the 31st went the same way and between Italy/America they had Bolt, Eeyore among four or five others (around the same time as day before).

Super cool!!
