Epcot-Boring?

Don't flame me here...a girl's entitled to her opinion...

I was working on my scrapbook before and noticed that my pages of Epcot are quite boring...then I started thinking that I didn't have that much fun when I was at Epcot. Ofcourse Soarin was AMAZING and I will always LOVE LOVE LOVE Test Track, but we were able to do everything we wanted before our AR in Japan at 1:30 and still had to wait around to eat lunch.

What are people's opinions on Epcot and any ideas of how to make it more interesting???

Once again, hope I don't get flamed...just wanted to know if there were other fellow Dis'ers who felt the same

If they'd just move "Stitch Encounter" over to Epcot, they'd have it just right.

I think it is very interesting just not to everyone. Everything at EC has some sort of educational theme to it and that is not something that everyone enjoys at a "theme park" when they are on "vacation". I find all of EC interesting but then I enjoy reading and getting into the details of FAS and IRS documents. To each there own

We love EPCOT. The thrill rides are great (MS, TT, S) as well as, Innovations and I love the options at WS. Lots to do and see and learn! That's the best part of EPCOT is the diversity.

I respect your opinion, though.

LOVE Epcot - how perfect to visit so many countries without leaving the safety and security of your own! Not to mention all the beer and liquor~~~~!!!


Just like those who seem to dislike Florida so much, if you find Epcot boring, stay at MK, MGM and AK and leave Epcot to those who adore it!!

going to Epcot with my 2 DS who are now teens i thought that we would not have a good time in epcot because of its educational nature. i thought that after TT,MS and Soarin' i would have 2 bored teens with time on my hands and would have to come back later on with DW to enjoy the rest of the park. well to my suprise they not only loved the thrill rides but enjoyed WS very much. we tried to make each country as interesting as we could for them by eating or getting a drink or visiting the shops in each country and offering to buy them something if they found it interesting.

they enjoyed innovations and were quite impresssed with the fire truck that was on display there. it helped that my brother who was a fire department captain from NYC who showed them and others what each item on the truck was for. he actually had a small crowd there before he was finished. he even had some other guests ask him info also.

we always enjoy ice station cool, always make money my sons them because they always bet me that i cant drink a full glass of beverly.

what suprised me the most was that my DS#2 who is thrill ride king, really liked SSE. i wanted to go on but wasnt going to go alone. he volunterred to go with me and he really enjoyed it. i thought the slow pace would bore him silly but he told me he enjoyed it very much.

epcot isnt on the top of my WDW list but it is a place i really do enjoy going to.

Epcot is the #2 visited themepark in the United States so it can't be that boring

My bf and I are in our 20's and love thrill rides, yet we LOVE Epcot! I don't find it boring at all - we've been to Epcot probably 40 times over the past few years and there's still stuff we haven't gotten to do yet.

We could just walk around Epcot all day long and not do one ride and still have a great time! For some reason we thing Epcot is a relaxing park to be in- lots of pretty landscaping- much more laid back than the MK.

EPCOT is my favorite park...I love the countries, Test Track, Soarin', Mission Space.....I am getting ready to start my scrapbook from Disney...but I think the place I will have the least amount of pictures is Animal Kingdom...

I do respect your opinions..and I won't flame ya....if everyone liked the same things, life would be boring!!!

On our first trip to Disney, we thought Epcot was boring and had finished the park in 1/2 a day!

I'm not sure what happened, but on our next trip, we really gave Epcot a chance. We took our time and I was amazed at how much we missed. I guess the first time we just weren't giving it a chance. It is truly a unique and awesome experience.

On trip last year, it took us 2 full days to tour Epcot. It's amazing how it went from boring to a favorite for us.

No need for flaming...everyone is entitled to their opinions and we all have our own likes and dislikes. WDW is still the greatest place on the planet!

I think there are many areas that need to be updated. I remember going to Epcot and learning - about energy, about the ocean, about transportation, about communication. Now it seems it's more important to provide thrill rides than learning experiences. Innoventions is not quite as innovative as it used to be. When it was Communicore, it seemed to be on the cutting edge of technology. During our last visit in October, however, we were pleasantly surprised to find the "House of Yesterday ... um, Tomorrow" had been updated. Spaceship Earth could use a facelift (I don't mean changing it over completely, I just mean replacing the burnt out bulbs, etc.). And it was sad to walk by the Wonders of Life building and see it closed. I rode Test Track once and that was enough for me, and I won't ride Mission Space. So in that sense, there isn't much for me to "do" in Epcot.

That said, we enjoy Epcot for other reasons. We love Soarin'. We enjoy the special events at Epcot (Flower & Garden, Food & Wine), the restaurants, the architecture in the World Showcase, and the different performers in each country. I agree with Ilovestitch - it is a relaxing park, and it's enjoyable just walking around and taking in the sights ... and taking lots and lots of pictures.

As an adult, I treasure Epcot. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but definitely a not miss. Spaceship Earth attraction is showing its age, but TT and Soarin more than make up for it. Living with the Land is awesome! I haven't spent much time in Wonders of Life, Living Seas or Universe of Energy.

We always hit Soarin', LwtL, TT, Journey into Imagination (DN loved Image works (interactive playground), Innoventions, Mission: SPACE (Everyone should ride it once Personally don't know what the big deal is with that one), and then World Showcase!!!

I love to stroll around the World Showcase. I haven't been outside the United States so it's the chance I get to experience a hint of each country's essence. One big shopping and eating party! Then Illuminations to top it off!

Here is my list of how the parks rank to me:

1. Magic Kingdom
2. & 3. MGM and Epcot (tied)
4. Animal Kingdom

Of course that is just how I see it.

My girlfriend and I love Epcot. It's the most relaxing of all the parks. I love the high-techness of Futureworld and nothing beats walking around the world. This is the only park where I feel like i've had a great time even if I only rode a ride or 2.

I can see parents not enjoying it if they have children. Not too child themed.

And nothing is greater than riding Spaceship Earth... Such a relaxing ride, especially after walking all day.

We are going to WDW tomorrow. We will only visit two parks on this visit and I asked my DS (19) which parks we should go to - his answer was the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Even though we love Rock'n Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror at MGM, he thinks Epcot has more to offer. Unfortunately, Test Track closes tomorrow for refurbishment - so that is a bummer. However, we are still looking forward to a great week.

24 hours from now, I'll be getting ready for our dinner reservations at Boma.

Boring.... no way!!!

Mission Space, Test Track, Soarin', Living Seas, Spaceship Earth... great for kids of all ages.

World Showcase kept my DW, DD and I entertained for a few hours... although our over-stimulated DS (5) snoozed in a stoller... even while the kicking Celtic fusion band was playing near the Canadian Pavillion.

I think one of the best things at Epcot is Turtle Talk with Crush. If it werent so crowded at that particular show when we went I would have seen it over and over. It was hysterical!!!

We went to WDW with my 3 year old just a few weeks ago. We ended up at Epcot only in the evenings for meals. Because of his age, and the fact that it got dark so early, it wasn't a big deal for us either. DH and I would like to check it out during the day whenever we get to go again - we never got to any of the grown up stuff because we focused our time on MGM and MK. I think it just depends on what the goal is for your group. (btw, my scrapbook pages for Epcot are basically all pictures of food!)

I love Epcot, and think it's fine the way it is.

Epcot seems to be less frenzied than MK, and calmer. Plus, I could spend an afternoon browsing through all of the shops in all of the countries.

Being in Epcot has always been torture to me - until my last trip six months ago. I don't know what happened, but without realizing it, I'd fallen in love with the place. I was really upset that I only had a half-day left to spend there!

I will say that the idea of the World Showcase being "educational" is a bit laughable-it provides about as much information as a tour book-just my opinion. There is a lot to be learned from Future World though.

I think Epcot depends on what you want from a park and what you make of it. The other parks prepare your entainment for you. You do not need to do much beside what rides to go on. At Epcot, you find the value in the details. I love to look at the architecture and sample the food available. To see the little touches like the Japanese gardens and the minature train in Germany. And I just love the Living Seas.

I think that, after going to the other three parks, Epcot can seem like a bit of a let-down if you do not know what to expect or are seeking high thrills. Some people find Epcot dull, others find MK a bit cheesey (these are probably the big Epcot fans.)

I just love that Disney has expanded so that they have venues to meet so many different interests.
