My DD15 has some friends at school who have been to WDW and Epcot and said that Epcot was boring...:sad2: They think it's boring because there aren't many rides. We will be me 40 my bff 38 and my bff's DD14. All girls spending one day together at Epcot and then me and DD15 the rest of the trip alone. I'm just wondering if my plan isn't going to work because Epcot will be boring for the girls. I planned 1 1/2 days at Epcot because I heard so many amazing things about this park and was my favroite out of the choices to visit. I have 2 1/2 days at MK 1 1/2 days at HS and also 1 day each at US, IOA & SW.

All opinions are welcomed and appreciated. Especially those with teen girls:santa:

I would be intersted to know from the girls at school:

which rides they rode?
how long they waited in line for those rides?
did the do any shopping?

If I were 15 and strolled in Epcot at noon and waited 60 minutes for Soarin, 60 minutes for Test Track and 30 for Mission Space and then left the park b/c I didn't see any other 'rides' I would think it was boring too. In reality if that is all you are doing then you are cheating yourself out on the Epcot experience.

You know that's what I'm thinking... My heritage is Norweigan and I was planning on spending a lot of time in Norway to learn about my heritage and also listen to the story telling experience about how they spend Christmas and my daugher is Mexican as well so I was going to do the same there... I thought it would be extra special you know?? And I have planned to watch Illuminations and eat at Teppan Edo because we love Teppan Yaki food... My uncle said this is an AMAZING park and a must see... I still feel that way but needed some insight from others that have been there.

I was once a teenage girl, and Epcot has always been my favorite park. I think if you're seeing it the right way, with judicious use of FastPass, etc, she'll love it.

Epcot is awesome for teens! Just make sure they understand that it's not an "amusement park" like Six Flags, otherwise they'll be disappointed.

My teens can spend hours in Innoventions, and be sure not to miss Sum of All Thrills. Test Track is awesome, especially if you remember to use the single rider line after it gets busy. And take your time - when you walk through that big showroom with the cars after Test Track, check them out. Have fun taking pictures of yourselves in them. Take in some shows. Be willing to try stuff and don't get all hung up on what's "lame". Laugh and don't take yourselves too seriously.

A good touring plan to eliminate long lines, plus reasonably open-minded teens, equals a great day. :thumbsup2

We will definately check out Sum of all thrills. I also want to see the acrobats in China. I forgot to mention in my previous post. I also have test track on my list and we love Soarin' We have rode it at DCA. Definately on my list. Thanks everyone:thumbsup2

I am 35, and my wife is as well. Both of us, along with our DD14 and DS11 agree with the assessment that Epcot is boring because of the lack of rides.

We have no desire to watch movies or walk around fake architecture. If we want to see Italy, we'll go to Italy.

We are couple in our late 20s and Epcot is probably our least favorite park. We love Test Track but aside from that, there aren't any other "must dos" for us. World Showcase is a little boring to us and walking around it in the hot sun in September when we go is draining for us. We always spend a day there on a trip but if we ever had to skip a park, it would be a toss up between AK and Epcot.

That's funny that you should say that... My DD's first choice of parks was AK and mine was Epcot. I guess we will have to see how it goes. Even if it is slower, I think it will be ok because I don't want every day to be crazy. A little laid back would be good. Thanks for your imput.:thumbsup2

It depends on your teen. My 17 year old son could care less about Epcot. He hasn't liked it since we started going to Disney annually when he was 11. Having said that, he loves the food there and tags along to eat at the various WS pavilions. I have two younger children (not quite teens yet) that love Epcot. They love just about everything there is including the World Showcase. They especially love interacting with the CM's at the various pavilions as they know that they are from particular country. My youngest will ask them all kinds of questions and they are more than happy to answer. I think bringing your daughter through the various countries (especially Mexico and Norway in your situation) is a great idea. It will allow her to experience a bit of her heritage and interact with people from those countries (if she so chooses). Incidently both of those countries have rides which add to the experience. I say go for it, she will either love it or hate it.

My kids have always liked EPCOT best. Took DS girlfriend last year and she loved it, they also had a blast doing Kim Possible, and pick a pearl.

DD loves EP all the shopping and the countries, we practically have to drag her out of stores. Yes there is not as many rides but it's a good mix of food, shopping, exploring, learning and rides.
