Friends of mine and I are planning a tour of the EPCOT countries and want to sample a bit of the best libations from each country. Any suggestions? I remember reading about a Norwegian beer -not sure if they still have it.

Any suggestions on which way to start? to the left or to the right?

Mexico - Margarita from the stand next to the counter service meal place (don't eat there, Taco Bell looks gourmet next to this stuff.) Get the layered one! Tasty, but not what you would call stong, so you get sample elsewhere!
What is this, a World Pvaillion Crawl! Sounds fun, when are you going?

Yes-exactly -a WP Pub Crawl!
we are going 1/20-1/23-not sure which day we will be at EPCOT. My friends have never been to WDW, so this should be interesting. I also thought we should each get a hat from a different country. By the end of the night we will be quitre a sight I am sure!

I'm a bit partial to Bass Ale from the Rose & Crown Pub. Nothing light for me! :drinking1 :drinking1

Yup grab a Bass Ale from Rose & Crown Pub then go listen/dance to British Invasion! then over to Off Kilter!

One Easter we had dinner at R&c. The nice young man there got me a little loopy w/ some beer/shot concoction. don't know what it was -it was yummy and potent.

What is Boddington's?

An ale :) My latest thing I've been getting at the Pub is a Bumblebee - Guinness on top, Boddington's on the bottom.

Stay far away from the margaritas at Mexico - they're disgusting. Every one of my friends that I've had try them agrees and gets mad at me for asking them to try it. I've tried them 4 times since a lot of people like them, but they're always weak, overly sweet, and no flavor. I'm planning on possibly trying a margarita on the rocks at the R+C Pub on NYE to make up for the lousy ones at Mexico :teeth:

Other than that, here's my plan for Saturday:

Canada: Moosehead (we usually eat at Le Cellier for lunch on Drinking around the World days, but not NYE)
UK: Bumblebee / Long island or margarita (their LIs are FANTASTIC)
France: champagne
Morocco: Tangierine Cocktail - one of the best hidden drink secrets at Epcot
Japan: hopefully a Samurai at the bar (lime juice, vodka, plum wine), this is my favorite at Japan
America: Sam Adams (not much of a choice here)
Italy: red wine / limoncello / Rosa Regale (not sure which yet)
Germany: hmmm....beer, not sure which, probably the Franziskaner. Maybe a Jager too.
Outpost: Pumpkin beer, if they still have it
China: Tsingtao
Norway: Carlsberg
Mexico: None, yuck

(Not much of a choice at the last four either)

Yes, this is spread out over the day and I'm young :rotfl:

:earseek: OMG, I have to totally disagree with Forever42, I think the margaritas in Mexico (Not the ones inside at San Angel Inn, they're OK, but the ones you get next to the Cantina) are the BEST margaritas I've ever had!!!! I have quite a few every vacation!!

We love the Spaten Franziskaner beer in Germany.

Start on the left (Mexico) and see which country you can get to before falling down. Have fun!!

I can't tell you what the deliciousness of the Tangierine Cocktail is, you have to taste it for yourself.

Now Go!!!

I had a really nice beaujolais in France last Friday.

Also, the unfiltered sake in Japan is a must!!

I did a bit of a bar crawl myself with my sister during this years food and wine festival. Have a margerita from Mexico, a glass of wine in Italy, a beer stein in Germany, a sake in Japan, a Keir Royal in France, and end with a Bass Ale in England just in time for Illuminations (great spot). I happened to end with my champagne cocktail in France and watched Illuminations while sipping on my Keir Royal, it was fabulous! Just remember when mixing all these different alcoholic beverages to pace yourself, especially when the heat gets to you!

:wizard: :pug:

The Kirin Beer in Japan is quite good.
Casablanca in Morrocco is suprisingly decent.
There's a Kronnenburg 1664 in France that's not too bad, but we usually have a nice glass wine.
Spaten in Germany.
I prefer Harp in the Rose n Crown.
Any of the beers in Canada.
Carlsburg in Norway. Thats the only choice since they did away with Ringnes, which was the nector of the gods in the drinking lap around the world.
I usually just get a Miller Lite at USA.
Tsingtsao in China.
And I like the margarita's in Mexico. Yes they are sweet so after one or two you've had enough, but I do like them.
Usually have a glass of wine in Italy.

I also vote for the fiesta Margarita in mexico. If you do not want all of the flavors layered they will let you decide. I had the mango and strawberry layered when we we there for Christmas. YUM!!!!

My favorites (I only drink in the countries where I like the liquor -- we eat in the others!).

UK: Strongbow Hard Cider
France: champagne
Morocco: Tangerine Daquiri
Japan: I have no idea what it's called, but it was the most expensive of the Saki's you can try in the back of the store. It was sweet and yummy!
Italy: I LOVE limoncello, but the Rosa Regale is fantastic too! We also enjoyed the Belini's at the outside snack stand last trip.
Germany: They had a great honey wine the last time we were there -- If I remember correctly it was Valckenberg Madonna (sp?)???
