Hi all,
This is my first time posting here on this board. I've been reading lots of threads and have found tons of helpful reviews and hints - so thanks already for all the info!
Here's one question that I haven't found here yet (although I'm sure it's just due to lack of truly searching!)
My family and I will be going to WDW in three weeks. I've only been there once before, and I never made it to the boardwalk on that trip. From looking on a map, it seems as though the Beach Club resort is farily close to Epcot. We have breakfast reservations at the Cape May Cafe, and plan on spending that day in Epcot. Is it possible to walk from Cape May Cafe to Epcot, or is the bus our best route? It's hard to tell true distance from looking at a map on-line, but I'm certain that one of you knows the answer to this.
Thanks!

It's a very easy walk...less than 5 minutes. There is also the option of the Friendship boat...it does a loop of BW, BC, Epcot and MGM

Enjoy

You are correct. The International Gateway into Epcot is within walking distance. Bus service is not provided for Epcot from the Yacht and Beach, Boardwalk or the Swan & Dolphin. You can choose to take the boat from the marina (it will drop you off at the gateway) but the Marina is on the Yacht Side, if you are eating at the Cape May you would be better off just walking,in my opinion of course, to the gateway. They have a very nice pathway that takes you there.

Have fun on your trip and welcome to the DIS Boards :)

Walking is much quicker than the boats. And it is a very pretty walk.

Have a great trip!!

we are vacation club members and our Home is at the Beach club. After staying there we never want to go further....than the Boardwalk! Walking to Epcot is great, and fast. The walk way is pretty and you beat the crowds exiting because you go back through International Gateway. You can also watch the fireworks from many balconies at the Beach Club. The Boardwalk is close by too and again the walk is actually relaxing.

If you are planning to drive to the Beach Club, be advised that you may not be allowed to park there for the entire day (while you go to EPCOT).

Disney discourages non-registered hotel guests from parking at the resorts to go to a park. There have been many complaints from registered guests not being able to find a parking place because of the people who park at a resort hoping to either beat the crowds or the parking fee.

You may receive a timed (3-4 hours) parking pass. (Or you may not. Not sure how security decides. While it is unlikely that your car will be towed if you exceed the limit, there have been reports of cars being towed.

If you do drive to the Beach Club, the best thing to do is move your car to the EPCOT lot after breakfast.

If this doesn't apply to you, I'm sure you will just ignore it!

Best wishes -

Thank you all for your helpful info! We won't be renting a car, so parking is not an issue. We will be staying at the Carribean Beach Resort, but have a character breakfast reserved for the Cape May Cafe on the same day that we plan to visit Epcot, so walking to Epcot sounds like a good plan. I'm hoping to walk back to the Boardwalk after dinner in Epcot for some ice cream sundaes at Beaches & Cream :)
Thanks again for all the info!

Just wanted to second what Paul said. Beaches and Creme is between the Yacht and Beach Club. Just down the hallway a bit from Cape May Cafe. I would hate for you to go to the Boardwalk and not find it. The Boardwalk is accross the lake from the Yacht and Beach Club. A nice place to visit, but you won't find Beaches and Creme there.
