Entrance Fee for CityWalk

I'm planning my first ever trip to Universal and have a quick question about CityWalk.

My sister and I would like to go over there to have dinner at Margaritaville... It looks like we'll each have to buy a ticket to CityWalk ($12?) in order to do gain entrance to the restaurant.

Is that true?

According to the Universal website, there is no entrance fee for Citiwalk and I have never encountered any fee other than the parking fee.

No, there is no fee just to access Citywalk. It is similar to Downtown Disney, in that you can wander around and go in the shops and restuarants but you need to pay an entrance fee (or have a Citywalk-inclusive ticket) for the clubs.

I want to say Margaritaville doesn't start charging a cover until 10 or so, when the band goes on. If you get there before 10pm, there is no charge, even if you stay for the band. If you leave after 10 and want to return, just get your hand stamped to avoid paying the cover.

Someone says that Margaritaville has a cover charge after 10pm,I've never been there that late to see it,the rest of the time it's just a restaurant,you just walk right in.Citywalk is just like Downtown Disney,except you have to pay to park if you don't have an annual pass,$15 from opening until 6pm,$5 from 6-10pm and free after 10pm.It's the same parking as for the theme parks.After you park you walk into Citywalk which is between both parks,so there is no entrance fee to get into Citywalk you can walk around and access the stores and restaurants,if you want to go to the clubs then yes you have to pay.They also have combo style tickets for example if you want only access to the clubs it's like $12,if you want to add on a movie it's $16,also a meal and a movie or a meal and access to the clubs will probably be about $21.

Side note, we are old now, and haven't club hopped in a while that late, but our APs used to work for admission to CW clubs on Sun-Thurs nights.

We are usually @Mville or Pat O's before they start charging (& as I mentioned if u are there before they charge the cover, it's not like they come around to collect it from you), so I have no idea if the AP still acts as the CW party pass on weeknights. Anyone know?

We will also enter Pat O'Briens before they start charging a fee, to enjoy the dueling pianos. Other restaurants that have a cover charge after 9 or 10 pm are Latin Quarter and Bob Marley.

I went over to Margaritaville last night because they had an awesome band, Orange Avenue, performing. We got there well after 10pm and just walked in. No cover. Now, the kitchen was still open and tables were being seated so I'm not sure whether that had something to do with it, but it sure didn't seem as if they were set up to collect a cover charge.

Good to know. Have never seen that happen, especially over a weekend. When they do collect covers, they are set up at both side doors to collect our scan your party pass.

Yeah, I'm used to that at the other restaurants/clubs, but we rarely ever go to Margaritaville so I'm really not as familiar with their set up. The other clubs tend to have much more, shall we say, entertaining, patrons and make for more interesting people watching. The only reason we ever go to Margaritaville is if OA is playing.

As for the club fee, in May, Preferred and Premier passholders get 2 complimentary club passes per day.

Also, persons buying the 14-day 3-park unlimited pass get complimentary club passes for the entire 14 days.

i went to the guest services at city walk, showed my ap and received the party pass.

while i was at city walk that night, none of the places asked to see it..........
but i had it if it was needed
