We are taking our first trip to Universal this April. This is my first visit to this site as well, so pardon my ignorance, but what is the entertainment rate I have read about and how do you find it? We would love to stay at Royal Pacific, but the lowest rate I can find is about $199.00 a night. Any help would be so appreciated!

ENT rates are available to people who have bought an Entertainment book for 2005. They haven't been very available this year. If I were you, I would check into a AAA rate. If it's available, the savings might pay for your AAA membership, or some people have had luck with the orangevacations site.

Hi Lynne65! Welcome to the DIS Boards! :wave2:
You will find lots of great information on these boards and very friendly people ready to help you out! :)

I hope you will stay and have some fun on the boards!! :)

I just checked on rates for the first week of October - AAA rate of 242.10 at HRH - no AP, Fan or Ent rates - she said there were not even any AAA rates at RPR ! She made the comment, when I listed the discounts I was eligible for, that "there won't be any Ent rates this year". I asked her why no AAA rates at RPR and she told me that there would be very few discounts for october due to HHN - according to reports from last year, the parks were very quiet that first week - I guess we'll see , but it looks like Ent and Fan are not coming up and APH will now only be offered closer to the time of booking, after they assess their availability levels

Has anyone gotten a quote for Ent or Fan for anytime in 2005??

When I called to inquire about 7/4 - 7 I was told NO discounts other than AAA during that time - and VERY few AAA. My sister lives in Lakeland and keeps checking for a good time to go and can find almost no discounts thru end of Oct.

I have to say I'm a little more than dissapointed regarding the ENT rates for 2005. I bought the book from my DD's school fundraiser because it listed Universal hotels as one of the discounts available. Now they say there won't be any ENT discounts for 2005? Since it's listed in the book, isn't there an obligation to offer the discount?
We're going 9/1 - 9/2 and we'll be staying onsite regardless (with AAA discount) but it's still very discouraging.

I just booked my reservation and the girl said she doesn't know if they'll get entertainment rates.

AAA seems to be the one that is working the best right now. That's what I used, and she was able to enter my Loews number with it. So it's best to call when booking your reservation.
