Entertainment Card: How Do I Get It & Use It?

I've never actually used the entertainment card before, but the hotel I'd like to book has a discount associated with it. I have 2 questions:

1) I see an Orange County Entertainment BOOK online...but not an Entertainment CARD. Does anyone know of this "card", and where I can purchase it?, and...

2) Will I have to wait until I have the card in my possession to book the room I want, or can I book it now, and simply bring the card with me to the hotel to show the front desk when I arrive (like I would do with my AAA card?)

TIA for any help you can provide!!!

The entertainment card comes with the entertainment book, in the front of the book. You don't have to purchase the OC one. You can purchase one from your home area or anywhere else where you might want to use the area-specific coupons. Are you staying at Hojos? If so, you don't need the card when making the reservation. You will only need it at check-in. If you don't want to or won't use the entertainment book at all, you can also just purchase a card from e-bay for a few dollars. A lot of people just do that instead. :)

Do you mean the Hojo. If so you only need the card. You book the entertainment rate, and show the card at check in.

You can buy a card on ebay or craiglist and with shipping it should only cost about $2.50.

The book doesn't really help, it is mostly just a guide to see where you can use it. You may want to buy the SLC version of the book so you can use it at home too.

Thanks very much for the info! (oh, and not hojo's...looking at Holiday Inn).

Lol...not sure why you mentioned SLC unless you automatically assumed I live there from the photo of my kids??? Nope, I live in California. Been through SLC a few times to take my kids to the dino museum, but I have never lived there, or anywhere in Utah for that matter. We're not Mormon (although I'm pretty sure we've had that assumed about us before, particularly when driving through Utah, hahaha!)

Thanks for the tip about the book not really being helpful - I was wondering about that. I would be willing to buy it anyway because I'll save the whole price of it on just one night at the hotel. Naturally though, I'd love to save pennies where I can, so if I don't *have* to buy the entire thing, I won't.

That is funny. We live in Utah but we're not Mormon. Whenever I tell anyone we live here everyone assumes. :)

.)

I would get the book from where you live! I love my book, I am always finding good deals on places I generally go to. OR I try new places!!!!

Not sure if anyone said this..but the card is IN the book!

But be advised a lot of times, the internet rate is better then the Entertainment rate....

We once lived in Boise for 5 years, and shortly after moving there, my husband, who had a photo of our 4 kids at his desk, had a woman ask him, "Are you LDS?"...he had NO idea what she was talking about and thought she'd called him something with the word a** at the end of it...HAHAHAHAAA!!!

Sooo....everyone is very certain that the entertainment card will be accepted for a hotel discount, no matter *which* city's version I purchase??

Entertainment card from any city will work. But the days that a discount is available is limited. Mostly off season stays. I've only used it at Holiday Inn in San Diego. Never seems to work for the days I need near DLR.

LOL not everyone from Utah (or SLC) is a Mormon and there are Mormon's who live elsewhere. lol :) I was going to say the same thing! ;)

I wonder exactly how she made that leap? I find it funny that people make assumptions like that. My Mom, right after she and my Dad got married, she would tell people they were "LSD".....she couldn't figure out why she got weird looks, especially when she got pg and started to show. LOL Finally my Gma (her new MIL) heard her say it and corrected her.....LOL

To confirm, you can use ANY card from ANY book and you do NOT need to buy a book at all, you can simply buy the card from eBay for a couple dollars. I've done this, used a card from my area's book (Bay Area, Not Orange County) and purchased just the card from eBay. It really does work! ;)
