Does anyone have the Alamo double upgrade coupon from the 2012 Entertainment book that they will not be using? Or a discount and free day? According to Mousesavers, it is good until June, 2013. I need to make a 10-11 day reservation for October and the rates are ridonculous!

Not to highjack your thread but we are going approximately the same time and the rates are REALLY high for some reason. I got a decent rate but keep waiting for them to go down. If someone has an extra one after OP gets one..I could use one too :) Thanks!

Not to burst your bubbles, but it's not out of the ordinary to be asked to show your Entertainment card when using one of the coupons for the car rentals. It's sort of their way to make sure that the coupon is being used by the people that bought the books and to also reduce the practice of re-selling the coupons.

Yep. Had to show my Entertainment keychain tag when I rented at Alamo last month. I had used the "free weekend day" coupon when I reserved my car.

It's ok, but I'm ordering the book if the coupon is good enough. I should get it before the trip. They are on sale now 2 for 10 with $1 shipping. I just wont bother if the coupon doesn't really make a difference. Last year it made a huge difference for me.

We were looking to rent a mini van for a weekened in Sept (going to Universal and Sea World) and for 3 days it is over $200 :confused3 I looked at all the car companies I could find, Costco, travel websites, discount sites etc.

Last Oct we rented a car (not a mini van) in CA for 7 days for a grand total of $70 - was hoping to find something in that range but I guess mini vans are super expensive to rent?

Yes they are very expensive to rent..and for whatever reason, the car rental rates are VERY high for low travel periods. I've never spent over $250 for 10 days @ WDW @ Alamo (at airport) and right now the best I have is $447 for 12 days at an off airport location.

I'm fairly certain the rates will come down eventually..but generally don't start out this high.

As far as being asked for the card..I've never one time been asked to see the card and have used it several times in WDW & DL. In fact..I don't think I even keep the card at all..let alone take it with me. I only use the coupons and have never had a problem..hope that hasn't changed!

Are they still on sale? This sounds like a great deal. Do you have a link?
