The original plan called for 12 buildings to be serviced by 3 pools--two "quiet" pools and the High Rock Spring feature pool.
Of those original 12 buildings, here are my thoughts:
The 4 buildings that face Downtown Disney essentially have their own quiet pool. They are moderate walking distance from High Rock Spring.
Another 4-5 buildings are in very close proximity to High Rock Spring. These buildings are adjacent to the common area buildings, and have the easiest access to the main pool.
The rest of the buildings are moderate-to-far distance from High Rock Spring, but will have a close quiet pool.
Given the lay of the land, any new construction would have to be considered quite far from High Rock Spring--at least 10 minutes on foot. And, I think there could well be occupancy issues at HRS given the size of the resort.
In another thread, I made some comments about the fact that the
DVC sales center is now at Saratoga Springs. They certainly don't want people to arrive for a tour and find High Rock Spring packed to the gills. For that reason alone, I'll be surprised if they don't build this Phase 3 (six more buildings) with some sort of an upgraded pool--at least something that falls between HRS and a quiet pool in quality.
