Lily is expected to turn into a Category 3 hurricane by the time it makes landfall in the states.

ENOUGH WITH THE HURRICANES ALREADY!

For that matter, ENOUGH WITH THE TROPICAL STORMS ALREADY!

I'm getting tired of this.

We don't want it here. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama sure don't need it. NOWHERE in the gulf needs it. ENOUGH!

*muttergrumble*

(Sorry, I just have plans for this weekend that I really don't want a hurricane to ruin. )

I hope it doesn't hit you too badly, Rajah.

I was surprised when I saw another hurricane in the forecast. I wish you could send some of that rain up north. Colorado and the rest of the west could really use it. Hope you can still have a great weekend.

I know! We sure don't need it down here, y'all need it up there, why can't it just JUMP over the south and straight to the midwest/west where it's needed?

It seems like November 1st (end of Hurricane Season) is taking it's sweet time getting here this year :(

You sound whipped Rajah. :( Good luck with the weather this weekend.....I'll send down some sunny PD!!!!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Maybe it will fizzle out before it reaches land! Keep on hoping!!!

Yep,

Although we live in North Central Mississippi Isadore gave us rain for 2 days and wind wind wind! No one was hurt near me but there was flooding....now here comes Lily! We still have furniture sitting outside from moving and we have to get it all in by Thursday.....uugghh!

I agree Rajah. Enough. We don't want it here in Florida either. NO MORE HURRICANES! of course except for the University of Miami Hurricanes

It sucks that the East coast is getting not stop rain while the west coast is in a drought.

You said it, Tammi! Not only did we have plans this weekend, but I'm afraid we've missed the bullet too many times here in Houston, so it's our turn. Gaaahhh. The predictions were that we would get hit hard this year, and that this year would be a "fruitful" season, and so far it all looks to be right on track. I'm crossing fingers, toes, eyes, and legs.

With all the storms heading your way, did you get the roof fixed?

Yes, thank goodness.

Oddly, even though I think the chances are greater of us getting hit by Lily than they were by Isidore, I'm not as panicked about this one as I was about Isidore (which missed us). I guess not having the deadline of Monday to get the last few things out of our apartment or be fined helps. Instead of having 2 places to worry about, I can concentrate on just getting this one taken care of.

On the bright side, at least we all dont have to run around looking for batteries all across town again!

I hear ya Rajah..........trust my I hear ya hon. I keep telling DH if we get hit by one more hurricane.....I'M OUTTA HERE !!!!

Rajah - My sentiments exactly! Last night they had Lili headed directly toward us in SW Louisiana. Today the track has moved slightly to the east, but I don't trust those forecast too much. I've been a basket case all day. They've been saying that if it does hit in this end of the state, they're expecting flood waters all the way up to Interstate 10. We live about 10 miles north of there, but that doesn't make me feel any better.

Okay, my mom just sent me an email telling my that my dad's chemical plant in Port Arthur is doing the following:
"Daddy has to stay at work until midnight tonight. They are doing the emergency shutdown and evacuation now. They have reserved a hotel room for us at __ __ in Lufkin."
So mom has packed her necessaries and personal files, and they will be headed to Lufkin tomorrow. His plant (major worldwide company) is shutting down all but the necessary reactors (not nuclear) and is evacuating their employees, even paying for hotel rooms. WTH??
Our complex is providing a garage, free of charge, for my truck. DH's truck won't fit in a garage, but he'll try to fit it in one (will leave the bed poking out a bit).
Ugh!
