Last year & then again this year we have stayed at the CR on a SoG relocation with my brother's family. I love the convenience of the CR, especially the walkway to the MK & also the monorail to EPCOT.
This year I noticed even more than last year that the CR really needs some sprucing up & also more attention to their maintenance. For a deluxe resort it really needs to be in touch with the small details.
The rug on the stairs leading to the monorail was really dirty & worn. The pool area was not swept or hosed down nightly to remove the sand & other debris from the day. Twice while we were there they held outdoor parties near the boat dock. Neither time was the ground concrete washed off after the party. For the last week of our stay there was some kind of sticky, brown, ugly residue on the ground. At the boat dock the benches were in desparate need of paint because they were chipping so bad. There were other things that I noticed, but I think you get the idea.
Maybe I'm just being picky. I guess these things shouldn't matter. It was just so "un"Disney to see these things not attended to. It was a little sad to see.
Do you think they'll do some refurbishing after SoG has reopened & all those guests will be moved back to that resort? I certainly hope so.
