So, I went to the Osborne Lights last night and truly enjoyed it! We got to the Studios at 6pm, and waited until 6:30pm to head towards the backlot area, since Fantasmic! started at 6:30 -- we thought we'd miss the initial crush. The plan worked perfectly. We wandered in and through the area at our own pace, enjoying the music and the snow and having a great time. There were a bunch of angels that were not lit -- a circuit problem apparently -- but other than that, I thought it was pretty impressive. The city setting seemed less manic and cluttered, and I liked the set-up very much. Little added touches like the TV sets on in the brownstone windows and the background music recorded to sound like a radio broadcast really kept the "city street" theme going. I really also loved that the lights covered buildings that were several stories high, giving a real height and lift to the display. On Residential Street, everything seemed kind of smushed together. At least, that's my opinion.
Afterwards, we went over to Epcot to see IllumiNations and the special holiday ending. I didn't like the 7-minute "tag" as much as when they used to do the special "Holiday IllumiNations," but the final burst of fireworks was really spectacular! Just imagine a sky lit up with thousands of points of red and white light -- truly amazing.
