This is not DVC related, but I got nuttin in other forums, so i am posting it here.

My family has one of those engraved pavers outside of MK. It was purchased in 1994. I am pretty sure the contract was for 10 years. It is still intact, but worn down. It is in a high traffic area. Does anyone know if you can pay to have it replaced, or engraved again or something?

Wish I knew. Mine was purchased in 2000 and is placed at a high traffic area at the Transportation Center. I want to clean it buy my family just laughs at me LOL It is still there but so beat up, I'm sure it will be taken out eventually. I :cloud9: it!

Ours is right at the main entrance(E14417) under the monorail tracks. I e-mailed Disney about 3 or 4 years ago and ask if when they remove them I could purchase it. The return e-mail said they have nothing in place to do this. It stated if a stone is damaged or removed it is tossed. I would love to have ours. We get our family picture in front of it pointing to it each time we go. I have a picture of it in the pictures section on the DIS under my username..smjj

Sounds like you might consider prying it out yourself on a future visit. Oh, gee ... the stone has been (somehow) removed ... ;)

I'd be the unlucky one to trip on the hole!

Believe me I thought about it. Its is getting a lot of wear and tear, as people exit the ferry ramps it is right in their path. We get a lot of curious looks from them as we pose and point at it. Last time we were there it had gum or something like tar on it and I wanted to clean it so bad...smjj

I have thought about a 3 am walk with a dremel tool, but I am petrified of Disney Jail.

We are right at the entrance to MK toward the monorail. My guess is a lot of you reading this have stepped on me. Total prime location, I just do not want the run to end.

Ha, same here. When friends go down we ask them to look for it. It is right there by the main entrance bus and ferry side but a high traffic area and people are just to excited to look for it, they just want to get in to the park...smjj

We put our feet along the edges of our brick every time we go and take a picture LOL

Ours is right around that kiosk with the ride posters, the freestanding thing to the right of the entrance.

When it was first put in, it was a prime location for people walking to get into the park. Then when Disney introduced the security checkpoints and put fencing around the rest of that plaza, our brick is now sort of off the beaten track.

Gee it sounds like some of us are WDW "neighbors". Ours is also under the monorail tracks, 9 bricks from the lamp. And we also bought ours in 1994. I've heard of a few people being able to get new bricks when a couple who bought the brick then got divorced (but I didn't hear anything official, just "I heard from a friend of a friend of a …") I too would love to have the brick if/when it's deemed ready to toss. Until then, being in front of the MK for 20+ years when the original purchase only guaranteed 10 years is a real bonus.
