Good morning, I have a question. I am going to Disney on May 29th to June 3rd with my DH, DD, and DD boyfriend. We planned this trip a while ago and this weekend our DD boyfriend ask us if he could ask our DD to marry him and he wants to do this while we are in Disney. We were trilled as we love him and I know my DD will be thrilled, but here is my question. We have fast pass for the fireworks and that is where he would like to propose does anyone know if we can have anything "special" set up by Disney? if so where would I contact?

Thank you for any input I would love to help him make this as special as possible for my DD:love::love::love::love::love:

I rememebered last year they had a park photographer in that area - i dont think you can set up anything with them ahead of time but you might be able to find him when you get to the area and see if he can snap the moment?

You may be able to hire a photographer for a special photo shoot of the proposal through Disney. I'd call and see what they can help come up with.

Another idea would be for this special young man to just drop down on one knee and say those four words. Where only your daughter, him, and you two can hear it.

My son did that for his now wife (ten years!) and the only people who knew were us and our now granddaughter (she was five).

But - you know your family so if you want Disney, go for it. But sometimes, Disney can just be within your family that is ever growing.

My now DH proposed last March during Wishes. It was very special and his sister got the Photopass people to help us out, which actually made it kind of stressful because apparently they aren't allowed to move so she wouldn't let me move from a spot I wasn't a huge fan of. It was confusing and since I had no idea what was going on I started getting mad at her, which obviously made DH upset because he was afraid I would figure something out (and also I was really irritated right before he proposed). But Wishes is my favorite so it calmed me down and I was very excited when he proposed.

The bad thing is because she had the Photopass person DH's family didn't take any photos because they didn't want to get in her way. Well, all her photos were absolutely horrible. His sister bought us one and framed it but it's a pretty bad picture so I'm not thrilled with it hanging on our wall but oh well!

And honestly I loved it during Wishes but I would have preferred it to be the first night we saw Wishes because we were sitting in a secluded area near New Fantasyland. It wasn't perfect for viewing but it would have been so much more personal. He didn't realize how much we would become the center of attention with screaming girls taking pictures. He never even got out the words!!!

It makes for a funny story, but it wasn't exactly a dream proposal. I would honestly leave Disney out of it and pick a more secluded spot/time than the Wishes FP area.

I saw the sweetest proposal when I was younger, I've never forgotten it! A couple was on the teacups spinning and laughing and then out of no where the man held out a ring! She was so excited and it was so cute bc it was just the two of them. The reason I liked it so much is because she was so happy and carefree in the moment and never saw it coming. I realized when we got off that they had family off to the side taking pictures the whole time, I'm sure they made awesome memory pics. That was maybe 12 years ago and I've never forgotten it!

You might want to suggest something like the teacups situation. The photopass photographers can not only be difficult to find, but on our last trip it seemed more often when we found them during an event like a parade or fireworks they were assigned to somebody- like the family of the day. We went multiple days during our trip without getting a single picture because they were tied up whenever we found one. I would expect to have to rent or pay for the photographer or else be stuck not knowing whether you will get one. The photographers tend to not be around so much in poorly lit spots at night and fireworks require low light.
That teacups idea is cool though, then you can be off to the side taking pictures without it being suspicious. That might work on the riverboat, just taking pictures by the railing, or at a character meet so the picture guy is stuck there. You could even stand in line to meet a character, then go as two separate groups and tell the character what's going to happen so maybe they will pose, get a princess or fairy to act all excited and say yes like he's proposing to her... or one of the stepsisters at 1900 park fair. (the stepsisters would be a meal, you could even order a cake to celebrate)

I would call Disney's main line and ask them who to talk to, but in the long run I suspect you will be happier in a situation where you can be snapping pictures.
