End of year teacher gifts

with all of the target contriversy, target may not be the best gift card to give right now - you ever know what their personal stance is on that.

I would do a giftcard to barnes and noble - a book to read and relax and enjoy over their break
I highly doubt many people care.

Over Christmas and when he moves rooms I usually give my son's daycare teachers a gift card to Target wrapped up with something small like candy (around holidays) or a notepad. Michaels has cute little things in their front area bins- I get a nice pen and a to do list pad- most people can use those!

I have put gift cards in picture frames as well! Makes for a nice presentation and a usable gift (or regift!)

In my children's tiny school district, it is a tradition to bring flowers or a plant on the last day of school.

I didn't know this--when my daughter was in kindergarten, she took a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card, and said her teacher got 22 boquets/plants, and 1 gift card!

We still give the gift cards because I think enough flowers is enough....but the room sure looks beautiful on the last day of school.

The best gift I ever gave was a gift card flower pot. I bought a flower pot at the dollar store and a piece of foam and florist card holders and some pretty stones. I purchased about 6-7 small amount gift cards...enough for one time treat at dairy queen, star bucks, McDonalds, Taco Bell (just because my then kindergarten kid insisted) and a couple more I cant remember. I cut flowers out of scrap booking paper and added a card to each one and one for DS picture. There are examples on pintrest but I sorta did my own thing. It ended up about 50.00 but this was the best teacher ever and she loved and protected my peanut allergy kid sooooo well! As a teacher, gift cards are always perfect!
