DH & I are going down at the end of September for our anniversary and we decided to go down a day early so that we wouldn't spend some of our first day driving down from TN. We thought it would be fun to do that first night at Ft. Wilderness SO...would it be way too hot to camp in a tent for one night at the end of September?

It is very hot and very humid at that time of year. Highs are usually very close to 90, and lows are in the mid-70's. It probably isn't too hot to fall asleep in a tent, since you're from a climate that can get relatively warm, but it's not ideal tent camping weather by any stretch of the imagination. I wouldn't want to do all that work setting up a campsite for one night when it was going to be hot.

We've camped quite a lot in September in the tents at FW and other parts of FL. It's our favorite time of the year. We love it. I agree that it can be hot... but we actually like it and stay comfortable. It depends on what you feel comfortable with. Only you know that.
