End of October or End of November?

We have the last week in Nov. booked right now for myself, DH, DS (3), and DD (1), but because of circumstances, we are thinking about changing it to October. We have been to WDW in Sept. Oct. and Nov., but the beginning of Nov. I need advice on whether we will be missing a lot by not seeing the Christmas decorations and if the week before Halloween would be just as much fun. My family loves Halloween, but it would be nice to see the decorations in Nov.
Also, does anyone know if Oct. is a good time to go to Vero beach? I see that it is the lowest in points and was just wondering because we are going to be spending a couple of days there also. TIA!

I love the end of October. The weather has always been very warm (lots of swimming) and don't forget food & wine at epcot. The holiday decorations are wonderful too, but I just love the F&W. We will be at BWV this Oct (the end) and then we are getting a Beach cottage at VB for 4 nights. This past October we went to VB for 4 nights and it was wonderful. The weather was perfect and it wasn't too crowded. Good luck deciding!

I always wish we could go in November because of the low crowds and generally mild weather. But we always do go in October because that's when our kids have a school break.

Both are great! Good luck deciding.

Both times are wonderful. Usually we go end of Oct. and beginning of Dec. (not this year--family gathering in Nov.) so we can enjoy F&W and Christmas stuff.
You may not have lots of choices now for end of Oct. reservations if you want an Epcot resort. Oct. can still be hurricane season at Vero Beach, but hopefully 2007 will be as wonderful in that regard as 2006. Good luck!

We were there in Nov - the week before Thanksgiving and it was great. We don't really like the HOT stuff so we like the late fall, and winter. There were a few days we were hot, some of the CM's had coats on though. There were also some cool days but all really mild. We are going again this next Nov too

We also were there the week before Thanksgiving last year and it was great. We did "Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party" and did not regret spending the extra cash to do so we had such a great time planing for it again this year.

I've gone both October and early December. For me, the decorations and festivities are eyeboggling in December but the weather is far FAR too cold. I much preferred the warm sunny days in October, even with showers.

And I thought the Halloween Party had more to it than the Christmas Party at MK. All those trick-or-treat stations, all the guests in costume, dance parties for the kids, spooktacular surround fireworks and a very unique parade (not one you'll see elements on Christmas Day tv anyway). Haunted Mansion is very spooky and fits well the theme. The Christmas Party underwhelmed me.

The one thing I thought was worth it all was the Osborne Lights in MGM. That's a sight to behold, especially now that it is synchronized with music.

We decided in future to do long trips in October (10-14 days) and a short weekend trip in December just to hit the seasonal highlights.

We've been every Oct for FW since 2002 and usually stay at an EPCOT resort usually BCV. I've been during Thanksgiving several times and I do love to see the decorations but the crowds make that harder now. I think if we go back for holidays we'll go early Dec but Oct FW is a definite for years to come. We've even been when Halloween fell on a Sat night and the Boardwalk area is a blast. Another family that was there with us strted out with their kid at the BW area and then left us because they had MNSSHP tickets and when they came back they said the kids had more fun at the BW with less people.

We usually go ahead of Halloween now though although this pasat year we went the weekend right before and crowds were still good. It was only DW and I so we didn't hang out in Fantasyland but we did do the Keys to the Kingdom tour and the crowds weren't bad even at MK.
