End of August Crowds?

We will be going the week before you and I was worried about the heat also. Someone told me buy Frogg Togg chilly pad or towel. They said it was a life saver at keeping them cool.

oh yeah, these things are awesome! we have one for each of us--anytime youre feeling too warm you just pour water on it, and as it dries it gets cooler. total life saver. (just remember to be smarter than me--don't forget it on the haunted mansion!)

I got mine at bed, bath, and beyond. they had two sizes, both between 10 and 15$ canadian.

We're going Aug 20-29 this year. Last year we went Sept 20-27 and it was RAINY. I'm hoping for less rain this year, although prepared that it will likely be hotter. I plan to get misting fans for everyone, but will look into those Frogg Toggs too! We're planning for an afternoon break at the hotel almost every day, but my DD5 is a "wilting flower" as I like to call her when she gets hot.

Parks do start closing earlier. No midnight closings at MK, for example. 10pm is probably the latest you'd see. AK closes by 5, DHS by 8.

We were there at the end of August last year and the MK was open until 1:00 a.m. with evening EMH until 3:00. Right now, the schedule shows MK closing during the OP's dates at either 11:00 or midnight each day, and those are likely to be extended later. With Frozen Summer Fun going on, Hollywood Studios closes at 9:30 through August and into September. And I'd expect AK to be open until at least 6, if not 7, through Labor Day weekend.

We were there in August of last year. It was very hot and not at all crowded. I'd do that time of year again for sure but for the heat.

Thank you all! I will def look at getting the frog tog and misting fans. We always do the misting fans. A daily break back at the hotel will prob be necessary with 3 little ones!

Hurricane Andrew hit southern Florida in August 1992 and we were in the midst of tent camping at FW. The storm may have destroyed Homestead but we had the most beautiful weather at Epcot that day... guess the hurricane blew away the heat

of course we had some delay issues getting to Florida via Auto Train as it took a much more westerly path than usual to avoid possible weather

For the dates we're going (8/24 - 8/30), they just in the last few days changed MK closing from 10pm to 11pm and DHS from 8pm to 9:30pm. Doubt they would extend hours any further (except for maybe AK).
