End of August Crowds

Hi,
I decided that a Disney trip is possibly in order if I can swing it for the end of August (approximately the 23-28 or so).

I may be solo, I may be with a good friend to help me out but either way- How are the crowds? Is it horribly crowded? Is it not too bad?

I know my way around the parks and I am a great planner (thanks OCD) so I am not too worried about lines (get there early, fastpass, GAC if necessary...). I just dont want to get there and have the entire World be swarming. Crowds could ruin my trip if I dont prepare myself for them in advance (and avoid them).

I have been there at the beginning of June and the very beginning of January to compare it to.

I know the weather will be hot, humid, rainy and gross as long as there are no hurricanes ;) I am willing to take my chances.
Thanks!

The closer to the end of the month, the lighter the crowds. We've gone there the last few years at the end of August. Most kids are back in school, and although it can be hot, and rainy sometimes, the crowds are not too bad.

It picks up over Labor Day weekend, but then gets very quiet. Last year our kids didn't go back to school until a week after Labor Day, and we spent the week at a very quiet WDW. Not that we were complaining - we went on all the attractions that normally have long queues, like Dumbo :bounce:

Just our experience..

We did the last two weeks of August 2004 we didn't find the parks too crowded. A lot less crowded than the first two weeks of August ::yes:: .

The end of August can't be too bad, we are going back this August :teeth: .
