Hey there,

We're going down in just a few weeks :yay: , we'll be there the last week in April. Just wondering if anybody has been down there at this time and how the crowds will be? We're used to going in early December when its pretty empty, but we're hoping since the week were there is the week after Easter week (when most kids seem to be out of school) that it won't be as busy as the first three weeks in April.

Thanks!

Well, I'm going that week too and I have to say that the more I read, the more people that seem to be going that week. I think a lot of us used the same rationale. I hope it's not too bad!

But I do know that most of the hotels are really full that week.

Hi, we are coming over from the UK to visit, 19th April for 2 weeks of WDW fun. I was hoping it would be a little quieter than spring break, heres hoping.

Pretty much all of April is busy. Big difference between December crowds and the peak season of April! Just be prepared, relax and enjoy what you can!

The last week of April is spring break for my children so we go down at that time each year. It is busy, but not as busy as the rest of April. Most of the other school spring breaks have already passed and there are only a handfull that take the last week as their spring break, parts of NH, NJ and NY that I know of, but its different each year. The weather is usually beautiful and the crowds are manageable. We always have a great time and get to do and see everything we want to. Enjoy!!!

We were there last year from 4/25-5/1 and it was wonderful. We went back in October and I thought that it was much busier then. MK will close early for Grad Nites, but it never effected our plans. Several northeastern schools will be on Spring Break, but don't let that scare you. When I looked at the UG rating, I couldn't believe that October was lower than April because that was not the impression of the crowds that I got.

ie...we saw every Power Ranger without a line in April. In October, you couldn't get near them due to the crowds. We played hide and seek with Woody in April because no one else was waiting in line.

The F&G festival is beautiful at Epcot. The grounds in every park are spectacular in the Spring. Don't forget sunscreen because it was in the upper 80's everyday. Have fun!!!!

around here, the last couple of weeks in April is when the schools take their spring break. I hope for your sake that there isn't a big crowd down there when you go!!!

ok, now I'm getting nervous.....all the research and people I talked with said the end of April and beginning of May is excellent for crowds? We're going down the 26th to the 6th, and by all my research I figured it would be crowd sizes a little above our early Dec trip.

I mean the end of April is well past the 'easter' rush, and I figured there would be some lull before the end-of-school trips start in late May?

we're coming down Apr. 25-May6 and from what I've read...last week of April is considered crowded... but was in the middle of the chart as far as... best time to go, next best time to go. crowded, really crowded, and most crowded...I'm not too worried, plus using TGM... I'm confident it will be smooth sailing. what park to do on what day...and what attractions in what order... :) I can't wait!! 25 more days til we're @ WDW and 27 days til our wedding!! :woohoo: good luck and enjoy your trips everyone! :cloud9:

Sorry to say, the crowds are not value season crowds. The crowds will not be Christmas/Easter/Summertime crowds, but you will have waits. You will need those ADRs and fastpasses. This is the 13th late April/early May in a row for us and the crowds are never light. The weekdays are good, but the weekends are tough. We rarely even visit a park on Saturdays anymore, except maybe just to eat or first thing in the morning. In addition to all of us sun deprived visitors, you have the locals who enjoy the great weather before it gets bad--also love to visit EPCOT for the concerts, plus the locals like to visit with their seasonal passes before they start their black out period, there are usually lots of kids down for school trips/music days and sporting events, lots of conventions this time of year too. However, with all of this in mind, I would never change my plans to visit, because of all the trips we take throughout the year, this time of year is my favorite. We will be there April 23-May 5th @ BWV. My only tip is, if you want to enjoy a quiet time, try to get to the parks early and if you visit a water park, you must be there early to get a chair.

We will also be there because of school vacation week (nh), We went in 2004
& it was crowded but manageable with FP & getting to the parks early!!!
21 more days!!!! :cool1:

We went April 27-30 last year. It was our first so we have nothing to compare it to but it was somewhat crowded. Not extremely though! We only used Fast Pass once and the only long line was the go-carts. The Saturday morning we ran to Dumbo to get on before the lines, then we walked right on several rides. But by noon it was pretty packed. Epcot was not crowded. Weather was fantastic. You will be fine!

This year we are trying early December.

I feel that the last week will be crowded BUT if you go early and use Fast Pass you will be able to get to do what you need.

I think alot of kids are off from school and are going down that week. So when they say get there early, get there early.

Have fun!

Does anyone know why the parks seem to be closing so early the last week of April?
I know there's GradNight on the weekend, but during the week there's only one late night at MK, and the other parks seem to be cloing earlier as well. Universal seems to be early to close that week also.
If it's going to be like a 7-8 in crowds expectancy , then why close so early? Maybe I'm clueless, but it seemed a little odd to me. I'm staying at Windsor Hills, so EMH's are of little use to me.

Thanks to everybody who replied, I'm not so worried now. Especially since I called to make some dinner reservations yesterday, and it was no problem at all. I asked what time they had seatings available, figuring i'd get oh one a 4:35 and one at 8:10 or something like that, and she said, anytime between 5 and 9! :)

We're going to be there the last week in April too (the 22nd-28th). I've never been at that time of year before, but we braved the summer crowds several times when I was a kid so I think April will be ok. (And have much nicer weather!) We're planning to get to the parks for opening each day, take advantage of EMH's when we can, and use FP. We've also got ADR's for the few sit-down meals we really wanted, and know what ride(s) we're going to hit first in each park. So if it ends up being crowded, we'll manage. What else can you do right? :goodvibes

Well, my daughter and I will be there the last week in April, also (22-28). We are prepared to deal with whatever comes. We didn't make any ADRs because we wanted to be free to change our plans at the last minute, if necessary. We usually like to eat on the go, anyway.
