Cast of Characters:
Me - Mom - 39 - chief worrier, planner, director, packer, organizer, etc. etc. etc.
DH - Dad - 44 - along for the ride
DD1 - Tink - 21 - will be senior in college next year but a kid at heart
DD2 - Bug - 10 - easy going tomboy
We ended with our family arriving at Fort Wilderness. We grilled steaks for supper, went to marshmallow roast and saw Chip and Dale. Now Bug is at that age when she thought that this was just a little too hokey but Tink and I have a great time, we sing along with the campfire songs, get pictures and autographs with Chip and Dale. Buy 2 packs of marshmallows to roast and make smores. Bug finally begins to grin a little and ends up having a good time. Take a ride on the golf cart around the campgrounds and back to the cabin we go. DH is tired and is ready to turn in but me, Tink and Bug head off to DD and checkout this pin collecting thing. Little did I know from the moment we purchased 3 lanyards and our beginning pins that we would spend our whole week chasing down every CM at every park to look at their pins. The girls and I really enjoyed this hobby and really added to the trip. Saturday morning finds us at Sea World. Saturday night it's back to the cabin for a supper of grilled hamburgers and s'mores (leftover from the night before). We spend the rest of the evening swimming at the pool and riding all over the campgrounds. Sunday is our Discovery Cove day. This was our first time for Discovery Cove and I admit the price for this park is incredible. I still can't believe I paid $800 for 1 day but I have to admit I would do it again. My family LOVED this park. The tropic reef is just too cool and the dolphin swim was great.
Now its Sunday night and we all hop in the shower and get ready for the Hoop De Do Review. We love this show and always attend. With all the information I had scooped up from the DIS, I knew that if you let your server know you had a party at your table who would like to "volunteer" to be a part of the show that sometimes they were picked. Well I just thought Tink would be the perfect "volunteer". The show is great and the food was wonderful and sure enough when it came time to pick volunteers for the show finale, Tink was chosen. Now she knew I was up to something. She grilled me about why I was talking to the server and I had fessed up that I had volunteered her but I really didn't think she would be picked. She was so flabbergasted when they picked her. The cast disappears, the stage is readied and then there is Tink. Picked for her "beauty" as they say in the show all decked out in a can-can dress. I am about to fall out. I work my way to the front (on my hands and knees so not to distract from anyone else) to snap some pictures and my camera runs out of film on the second shot. DANG. I crawl back to table, reload camera and crawl back. Tink is grinning ear-to-ear. She does her can-can dance (doesn't kick too high, I comment on this later and she says she had on backless shoes and was afraid she would send her shoe flying through the audience), says her 1 line and had a great time. This is a memory of a lifetime. Can't believe I didn't buy a camcorder before we came! But as she says she will remember it forever and that's OK. We end the night on the beach of FW watching the electric water parade. What a wonderful day!
Next time, Bug finds out just how wet you get Kali Rapids.
Thanks for reading!
