"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

The falls really are amazing!! I barely remember my high school visit there...but I do remember being on the maid of the mist, sporting a very stylish poncho!

That's quite the limo! :joker:

I love the Rainbow Bridge picture! "These neighboring countries have shared the world's longest peaceful border!" :goodvibes That's the way it should be everywhere!

What spectacular views! I bet that was amazing to be that close to something so cool.

Don't lie, you know that pink limo was for YOU! ;)

A foot washing station. Well that's just strange. I mean, I've seen those in water parks, but at Niagara falls? I guess they figure you never know when you might have the urge to wash your feet. :rotfl2:

Since you will definitely get wet there, good thing they gave you that super expensive gear. :thumbsup2

Holy crapload of people on that boat Batman! Nope. Not for me. I would go all crazy on someone.

Nice, you saw my car. I was in the area at that time. :rotfl:

That sounds like such a neat experience ... makes me think how that first got done. Like, who first proposed building a series of tunnels behind Niagra falls and the powers that be agreed it was a good idea? But hey, neat to see now, for sure!

Oh, the foot washing station - I've seen those at like the beach, but not just in a regular wash room :confused3

I just finished page 139 and although everyone else said it already, Owls, Quakers, Big and sitting down. You totally have me cracking up! :rotfl2:

On to the next page! Happy to see your back! :thumbsup2

Linda

I forgive you for dragging up memories of Zoltar ;) You couldn't have known how creepy he was.

Okay, the foot washing station also has me questioning everything. Why are they needed? Why did they spend money on putting them in?

So for about five seconds, I was like, that journey behind the falls sounds cool and then I got to this:

"The first phase is to enter an elevator which takes you 150 feet down to tunnels built right into the rock of the Falls itself."

Hahahahaha. No. Nope. Never.

Thanks for letting me live through your pictures though because this is the only way I'm ever seeing those views and admittedly they're great, but no way I'm letting an elevator take me underground.

Very nice picture. Very dapper.

Well of course you have to document the Mickey sighting. What sort of Dis-er would you be elsewise?

The foot washing station is pretty odd!

Wow you got some great photos, beautiful! It's really cool that you can take your time and leave when you're ready. Great souvenir photo!

The back side of the water looks really cool! I think your idea sounds better than one of those jam packed boats! :thumbsup2

I assume the pink limo was yours? ;)

LOL the second you posted "Journey Behind The Falls" I IMMEDIATELY thought of the backside of water.

Beautiful pics!!

THE YELLOW MICKEY PONCHO!!!! That makes me so happy!

Hey, you found my car!!

Bahaha, yup, Disney never leaves one's mind... ever.

Thanks Courtney. The view from that location was truly awesome. You really appreciate the sheer power.

It made me happy too!!!! I get so excited (probably too excited) any time I spot anything Disney away from the parks. Believe me though, this will not be the last.

I can totally picture you zooming around the town in that ride.

They really are Julie. I was so in awe of them. Who knew running water cold be that beautiful? Even though I didn't get on, just seeing the iconic Maid of the Mist was pretty neat.

Right??!! Totally pimped out ride that one.

I love that you said that Lauren, because I feel that exact same way. It really does give me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

OMG it was AWESOME!!! To be that close and really feel the water... I can't recommend that enough.

Hahahaha, I won't lie. I would absolutely take a ride in that bad boy.

I stared at that for a long while too just trying to figure out the situation where someone would need it. The beach? Yeah makes sense. A water park? Absolutely. But Niagara Falls???? Why are people taking of their shoes??? :confused3

PLUS we got to keep it!!!!! :cool1: I guess in all honesty, it was much better than not having it.

OMG Danielle, me too. I really wanted to do the boat, but seeing it up close, no way. The only time I would put myself in that position is if there was the promise of fireworks over a castle... and that almost never happens.

Awww, you should have stopped, lol. That is one boss car.

Phil it is unreal. You're so close to the Fallls there, it's mind blowing. My theory is whoever came up with the idea totally saw dollar signs. We can charge people to take their life into their hands!!!

Exactly!!! The beach I completely get. But here it just left me wondering...

Aww thanks Linda!!! These Niagara updates have been a little harder to write, so I greatly appreciate that.

Awww thank you again!!!

Thanks Amber. From now on I'll try to think before I post... Does this look like something from Amber's past?

I still can't figure this one out. I guess I should be happy no one was using it. But I just cant imagine a scenario where someone is out looking at the Falls and suddenly declares "I'm going to the washroom... I need to wash my feet. I sure hope they have a foot washing station."

Aww, yes, I do know your aversion to elevators. But this one at least just goes in one direction and not too fast. But yes, it is a long way down.

Haha, you're quite welcome. :)

Bahahaha, I had no idea what that picture was going to be.

Exactly!!!! And as I've said to others, there will be many more Disney references to come. Many!

Really really really odd Alexis. I understand the purpose, just not the need.

Thank you. It's so amazing being that close. With all the spray, it is hard to get photos though. But I persevered. I loved that you are left to yourself so you can really take your time. It makes a lot of difference. Haha, I almost didn't get the photo because it was ridiculously expensive, but the I figured it's not an every day thing, so why not?

It was amazing Shannon. The sheer power was so impressive. And absolutely... that boat did not look comfortable at all. I got a similar view without taking an elbow to the face.

Hmmm, I just assumed Maddie was in town taking care of Princess business and whatnot. :)

All these posts are making me want to go to the Falls! I have always thought about going but now I definitely want to check it out!

I would not want to be on those boats though!!! And #sardinelife? :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

Did you ever find out why they have the foot washing stations?? That is still very confusing to me..:scratchin

We went to Niagara Falls over twenty years ago and took the tunnel tour, but on the U.S. side. Our daughter, who was about ten years old at the time, likes to tell the story about how she almost died at Niagara Falls. It turns out she was leaning over the edge of the viewing platform while the water from the falls was pounding down on her. A man reached out and pulled her back, saving her life, or so she says. I didn't even know about this until many years later. If I had known about it at the time, I probably would have yelled at her for being careless instead of relieved that she wasn't dead. ;)

I finally caught up!!! Wow, your trip was just full of magic and pixie dust. Your future trips have very big shoes to fill:)

Oh you absolutely should!!! In addition to the magnificent Falls, there is just so much to do. I want to go back!

Hehe, seeing that made me SO happy I skipped it. I just would not function well in that environment. Journey Behind The Falls was the much better choice for me for sure.

Absolutely no idea whatsoever. I can't even come up with a real theory. It shall remain a mystery I suppose.

Oh that view! It's just beautiful.

The foot washing station...what ta heck?!

It was so beautiful and impressive. The beuty too is even though it was overcast and sometimes rainy, it doesn't affect much when you're that close since there it's always rainy, lol.

No idea and no guesses even. Just odd.

Oh my goodness Sue. I guess first, I wasn't even aware there was a tunnel tour on the US side, but that is very cool to know. But much more than that, so very glad no harm came to your daughter. Aww yes, I can imagine you'd scold her for being careless, but I have no doubt that inside you'd be super grateful she was ok.

I finally caught up!!! Wow, your trip was just full of magic and pixie dust. Your future trips have very big shoes to fill:)

Wonderful, thank you so much!!! This was indeed the trip of a lifetime. That's the only real downside. I know I will never be able to live up to that one again.

Thanks for posting those pics. Very cool seeing the perspective from the Canadian side. I probably told you this, but I did the Cave of the Winds on the American side. Here are a few pictures from that (I think this was my old camera)

It was the most gorgeous summer day EVER!

Me and Nick (not only do I keep my hood up in Disney World, but in Niagara Falls too!

It almost looks like snow, doesn't it?

It was CRAZY!

Notice the designer footwear they give you so you don't slip of fall. Mom-mom Mary Ellen holding on for dear life!

Only a little wet

Thanks for letting me share Rob (like you had a choice :rotfl:)

Since I've lived in the southern part of the United States my whole life, I don't know much about The Falls, so I am learning quite a bit from your updates, Rob. Very informative. :thumbsup2
For instance, I had no clue they built portals into the backside. That's pretty awesome. Talk about a heck of a view!

I'm glad you had a fun time exploring the sights.

My pleasure Mary Ellen. I think I had said that I didn't know there was something similar on the American side, but I stand corrected. I have heard of Cave of the Winds.

Oh my GOD those photos are fabulous!!!! Sue (Wood Nymph) had just talked about this and I can totally see now how you could hang over the side. Don't worry, I had the hood up a lot too, lol. My goodness that is something. Just WOW!!! Thank you SO MUCH for posting that awesome perspective.

Thanks Alicia, I'm so happy to share. It really is a beautiful and fun place to visit. Everything about the Journey was fantastic. Just an amazing and unique view for sure. Couple that with Mary Ellen's awesome additions on the US side and you can see how truly miraculous it really is.

I sure did. Now, onto new adventures. :)

Hello! I had to take a bit of a hiatus from following on while we were on our two-week road trip to Disneyland!

All caught up again - I am so enjoying reading about your trip to the Falls and time spent with Carrie, Hailey, and Riley.

I am with you - I can't imagine getting on one of those jam-packed boats. It looks like the people can't even turn around they are so close to each other! :scared1:

Oh my goodness, I'd say there is no better excuse than that!!! Two weeks in Disneyland??? I'm looking forward to hearing about that!

Thank you so much. I think I've covered the Falls pretty extensively by now, lol, so I'm finally looking forward to moving on to new stuff (well almost).

Oh Lord, I just don't think I'd like that. I'm not overly claustrophobic, but that just does not look comfortable.
