I just wanted to confirm how important it is to do this attraction first. We were in the first group today and the wait was already at 60 minutes when we got out. Rope drop wasn't too crowded today either. My kids really enjoyed ETWB.

I totally agree that it's important to to ETWB first thing at RD.

My only quibble: the announced wait time when you were done was 60 minutes, but I'll bet that the actual wait time wasn't quite that high (though it will get that high fast). :)

I don't know, the line was already really long, and the attraction is pretty slow.

Edit: I just noticed Lines shows it now as 60 mins posted and 72 mins expected.

That's interesting; I always assumed that the posted wait times are higher than the actual wait times, especially early in the day.

Maximum occupancy for the library where the show is held is 48ppl. Show, starting from the magic mirror scene to when you leave the library is around 15 minutes.
It is vital to get to RD and head straight there, not bothering with a FP. If you are waiting by the well, that's not far at all from the cottage, that can easily be a 40-50 minute wait from there

I have never understood how Lines comes up with these "expected" wait times, so I personally don't put much stock in them. I'm not saying Disney is perfect either, but I at least assume they use posted times to underpromise and overdeliver.

About 40 or so. Once inside the library, the show probably lasts about 15 minutes maximum.

You mean you don't believe this: "Our Disney World wait times use real-time data sent in by users and statistical models prepared by a professional statistician to estimate how long you'll actually wait in line." (http://touringplans.com/disney-world-app) ?

Is there more than one running at the same time? (which...how could there be, since there's only one Belle, right? ;) 200 people per hour makes no sense.

Yes, there is more than one show running and more than one Belle.

Have to check this one out since my daughter thinks she is Belle, it will be very interesting to see her reaction :goodvibes To her, its not a Belle doll or picture it is a "LydiaRose Princess!"

Bolding is mine. It's still just an estimate.

What is so great about this attraction? Isn't it just Belle reading a book to the audience?

I think that's what the old Belle "attraction" was. This is an interactive attraction where volunteers from the audience actually act out the story with Belle. There is some dancing involved, too. It's really cute. My kids really enjoyed it.

Is this attraction open during AM EMH? I am trying to plan our 2 days at MK and both days have early EMH. I didn't think ETWB was open during EMH...if not, we should head there first when EMH ends?

We just came back yesterday and our experience would be called "Less Than Enchanted Tales With Belle". We were there at rope drop having had breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Our wait was maybe about 15 minutes or so to enter the house. We were though, with the last few people to enter and therefore upon entering the library DD was not front and center but rather standing to the side. Needless to say, there were about three little girls who had no parts in the play, my daughter being one of them. The whole arrangement does not benefit a quiet child who will not yell or jump up and down to participate. She stood quietly waiting her turn which never came. After that, the whole thing is like being forced to attend some other child's school play-drawn out even more by having to sit through watching all the participants have a special photo with Belle and being given a book mark. My daughter, who had met Belle at breakfast earlier that week at Epcot, forgot about the whole thing after a while that morning although she jokingly calls the show, "Less Than Enchanted Tales ....". She never asked to go back. That was our experience; I understand others enjoyed it. I spoke with cast members afterwards, and was advised that any child who wants to participate will get some role to play, but they have to be vocal about it and once the wardrobe in the library is closed they will not reopen it to give out another part, so make your desires known and get the cast member's attention. That was where we made our mistake. I was also told that they must give three parts to adults; the two sentries and the wardrobe. No reason given other than management orders.

I thought Lumiere and the mirror were the most interesting parts.

Completely agree. What a bust! Wanted to love it, as it is my favorite movie, but left thinking I never need to go back!:(Didn't love Ariel S well, but I would do that again if the line was short as I liked how they transitioned from land to under water.

We were there this past Monday, and had a 40 minute wait AT ropedrop. We didn't stop for FP or anything.

Totally worth the wait : ) Definitely explain to your children how it works, and that if they want to participate they need to stand near the front of the kids (all of the kids were grouped separately in our show, away from the parents) and if they aren't selected for a certain part, raise their hand when asked.

That being said, there were some kids that joined the line of participants to meet and have photos with Belle after the show...including a tiny baby. It was SOOO cute seeing Belle cradle the tiny baby. She did a great job with the show and my shy DS7 who isn't into characters or B&B had a great time. Lumiere and the wardrobe were amazing...even if you aren't into the show.

So sorry your experience was less than magical. I love the attraction, but have thought all along that it really does put the shy child at a disadvantage. I'm sure it doesn't help to hear after the fact that all she had to do was ask for a part. One of my kids is painfully shy and I know how hard that is sometimes in situations similar to this.

And I'm sure it doesn't help now to know she could just get in line for a photo with Belle at the end if you didn't know that. It's just dorky that they don't always say "Feel free to join the line if you'd like a photo with Belle". I'm pretty sure that's because they want as few people as possible in line so they can move you out and move in the next group.

You shouldn't have to know the "secret handshake" to get to fully participate (or get a photo).
