Has anybody heard that Tropical Storm/Hurricane Emily has been spotted??? I am supposed to be married next Tuesday at Sea Breeze Point! Is this how my DD4 EMILY gets back at me for not having her come to DW with us?!?!!

It has been upgraded to a tropical depresasion from a tropical wave. It is not yet "Emily". It is tropical depression "number 5". There is also another tropical wave after that....

Wishing you the best for your wedding day... :drinking:

The news here in NY just said it has been named. I like your forecast better!!
Yes, let's hope my forecast prevails! :)
I think some news folks jump the gun with the name thing. The Weather Channel just called it TD #5.
It's true that if it is named in the future, the name will be Emily.

Good luick! :drinking:

Can they really tell yet that your August 10th trip may be "iffy?" Yikes, I have a 12 day trip starting August 13th and I've been planning it and looking forward to it for what seems like forever. Well...11 months anyway. :)

just going by previous experience with Ivan. I am actually more concerned about a wave behind #5. We live on the coast, so I have to watch two potential landfall sites. our home on alabama gulf coast, and the orlando area. during research and figuring in my head, the wave behind #5 would be able to threaten US mainland in about 3 weeks.
I always have to cancel trips if we get threatened, with Ivan I actually had my bags packed. My DH and I's jobs require us to report to work for storms.

just think postitive, it's my 30th bday, I am trying to remain positive!

According to the National Hurrican Center website, it is still Tropical Depression Five. You can get the BEST up to date information from their website.

I know what you are going through. I went through the same thing last year worrying about Ivan wrecking my wedding at Sunset Pointe, but it took a turn west at the last minute. I watched The Weather Channel and checked the NHC website constantly the week before the wedding.

If the Depression does turn into a hurricane, and does come near WDW, your wedding will go on, as long as WDW is open. While we missed Ivan, it rained at the EXACT time my wedding started, so they moved us to an indoor location nearby. It wasn't what I had dreamed of, but it certainly didn't ruin my wedding. And as you can see from my photo, it stopped raining right after the ceremony, so we still got to go outside for some pics! :love2:

Wait for the weekend, and if things are looking bad, call your wedding coordinator. They know how to handle these type of situations. Best wishes for you and your wedding! :cheer2:
