I called last night to change something on a PS which was at 8:05 and I mentioned getting in the park early and she said MK opens at 9:00 Thanksgiving Day. When I asked about EMH, she said they had changed it for that week. Everything is the same except MK is Wednesdsay and Epcot Thursday- they switched those. No reason why. I assume they are trying to diverge the crowd from MK Thanksgiving Day. Anyway, thought you Turkey week travelers might want to know- kinda messed up our thoughts for Wednesday!
Almost there!!!!

You have GOT to be kidding me! Oh well...guess I have to make changes in my itinerary again! Thanks for the heads up!

Melanie

Thank you so much for the info. We have an early PS at CRT on Thanksgiving Day and I was worried about the EMH crowd.

Thanks so much for the heads up. We were planning on going to MK Monday & Wed that week, but I guess we will change it to Mon & Tues.

Mimi Q- we'll be at CRT Thanksgiving morning too!!! We have 2 different times- party of 15- 8:05 and 8:25. See you there!!!

Thanks for posting this! We are going to be at MK Tuesday and Thursday, I hope the crowds follow EMH to Epcot. The only reason we are going to MK Thursday is for dinner at LTT.

We are planning to be at LTT for dinner also. Is there a danger that the park could be closed due to reaching max capacity? If so, would we be prevented from getting to our Thanksgiving PS at LTT?

I have heard different opinions on this. Some say that MK dosnt close on Thanksgiving and some say it could. We are going to try and get there earlier in the day to avoid the possibility of not making the PS. I just hope its not too packed!

We went to MK Thanksgiving for the last 2 years, Yes, it was crowded, probably the busiest park, but no it did not close. I have heard that if you have a PS in a Park that is closed your PSs would still be honored. It still would be a good idea to double check at your hotel.

How can we confirm that this is really true? Will it be officially posted somewhere?

I've looked everywhere to confirm that it is true about EMH- found nothing. So, I called back and asked and my brother called and asked also- we were both told again that Wed. and Thurs. of that week had been swapped. They just said that week is an exception.....
I guess there will be information telling guests when they check in?

I also sent a message to Steve Soars - the time guru. I hope he will reply.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had planned to do Epcot on Thanksgiving to AVOID the huge crowds!

No matter. Our plan to really concentrate on just walking around the World showcasw, so 11:00 is really teh tiem we are most concerned with. The extra hour will just mean that we won't have to wait outside the park for an hour!

I wonder if with Christmas being on a Thursday, they will do the same for that week? I hope not! I was planning to get a couple attrctions in before our 9:10 PS.

Maybe the switch is because The Haunted Mansion movie is opening on Wednesday. Maybe they are planning something for the MK since the ride is there?

I called today to confirm our reservations and PS's and casually asked the CM if EMH was changed those days. She said "no" but I do not believe her! It makes sense for them to switch it around those days. CM's are the last to know it seems:p ;) ! Does not really change our plans except MK may be more crowded when we arrive Wed.:smooth: !

Just for the record in case anyone is planning a Thanksgiving trip next year, they did indeed change EMH. The resort info had another park as the EMH park for Thanksgiving Day. However, they let everyone at the entrance gate to MK in at 8 a.m. anyway. I heard the CMs talking as we were waiting to get in for our PS at CRT, and they said everyone was to be allowed in at 8 a.m.
