EMH hours - crowds that bad?

Before finding this wonderful site, I made all our PS's. The problem is, I planned on going in the afternoons to the park with the evening EMH. After reading some of these posts, I'm getting really worried about the crowds, :scared: but as we're leaving on Saturday morning there's probably not much I can do about rescheduling dinners. Since the free dining is going on, the restaurants will probably be really booked up. We do have park hopper tickets so if it's really crowded we could just go to another park; it's just getting in for dinner that worries me. If someone could tell me what their experience has been lately, it would be greatly appreciated. :flower:

I have learned soooo much reading this site! Thanx to everyone for all the good info :grouphug:

From what I have heard from people coming this past week, it's been pretty good crowd wise no matter what park. I am leaving Sunday, so will be there the same time. If you are really worried, you may be able to change your PS, as my parents keep changing ours (last night too, there were lots available). However, I really don't think that we have much to worry about. The crowds seem to be fairly low, so I wouldn't stress. Have a great time!

We found the EM evenings to be unbearable! However, the EM mornings were great!

We got more done on a regular hours evening at MK than at EMH! I agree with the above poster that the am EMH's are worth it, though.

Thanx for all the feedback! I was amazed to get so much good advice so quickly. :goodvibes I think I'll quit stressing about it so much and just keep packin'!

This is our family's first trip to WDW, and my DS10's first plane ride, so with not knowing much about the world this site has been a godsend! :sunny: Along with the UG, of course.

I was under the impression that the OP was talking about the regular hours but being at the park that has the EMH? Would you say that the park all day is more crowded, or just the EMHs?

We were at Magic Kindgdom for evening emh on Aug 31st and walked on to every single ride with hardly any wait at all. The kids both 4 actually got to ride every ride they wanted to ride at Magic Kingdom between the hours of 8pm and 10pm. We had just flown in that day so we didn't get to Magic Kingdom until about 8pm.

Yep, I was going to say the same. But in early January, the evening EMH was pretty good. But that was the first week they had it in the evening.

And I did think the crowds were larger at the EMH evening park. We did an early dinner and left. Or went to another park.

We were there the 20-28th. We did the evening EMH every night. The only night that was bad was Magic Kingdom. I have never, in 10 years, seen so many people at MK (even the height of summer). You could not even walk! It was a minimum hour wait for everything, until about 11:00. After that we were able to walk onto some rides.

not to derail but
was this in all parks? i heard mk was bad but are they all pretty much awaste and i guess also what time of yr was this? Thanks

sorry typing while the question was being answered

If you were going in July, I would say to try to avoid the EMH nights. But it's September, which is one of the best times to go, because the crowds are so minimal due to everyone heading back to school! I went to WDW August 18 - 26, and we did EMH at MGM one of those nights and it wasn't that bad. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that they had a 10:00 pm showing of Fantasmic and a lot of people probably went to that. But anyways, September is like the perfect time to go, and I would definitely do it if I didn't have school! So I would say definitely don't worry, because you probably won't see long waits for anything. And like you said, you could always head somewhere else if it gets too crowded, which I doubt. :)

when i went in February the emh evenings were awesome! Even MK. There wasn't a single thing that I didn't get to do that I wanted to, some even two or three times (my dad has a thing for BTMR).

I just got back, and the EMH hours were not crowded at all! Which is why we went in September in the first place. We pretty much walked onto every ride, no matter what time it was. :sunny:

We all had a wonderful time, even my DH who is not really an amusement park person! Hope you all do the same!! :grouphug:
